Merrell Men's World Vue Moc Moccasin

Ok... I've not been a Merrell fan since they stopped making the World Passport. Every replacement since has fit and supported horribly. I would know. I've bought every World Passport replacement since they stopped making them. (All the models with the globe on the sole) I would always go back to my beat up old World Passports. Even worn out and 10+ years old, they were a better and more supportive shoe. In the last few years, I ended up settling with Dr. Martens. In comparison to recent Merrell shoes, they were better. That said, they'd be completely shot within a year. I'm 6'3 and good 350 lbs. Needless to say, I'm hard on shoes.I had all but completely given up on Merrells. While surfing Amazon, I happened upon this World Vue. I liked what I saw. The shape was VERY SIMILAR to the World Passport, with a sort of squarish toe shape. Furthermore, the old World Passports had a light leather finish that was Matte. Almost suede so to speak. When they would scratch, they'd actually still look good, versus the standard shiny brown leather that exacerbated every tiny scratch. The "Boulder" finish on these World Vue shoes, though kind of grayish in tint, is that same Wold Passport matte/suede'y type of material. I'd really missed that. (Disclaimer: I can't speak on the scratch resistance qualities of colors other than Boulder)So, I almost talked myself out of purchasing them. Multiple people saying they were junk. Multiple people saying the material was junk. Every answer I got on the "ask a question" portion got a horrible answer. That said, the thought of an actual World Passport replacement helped my decision to take a chance. That, and knowing that Amazon is incredible, so I could return them. So, I ordered them. IMMEDIATELY I was blown away. They feel EXACTLY the way the World Passport did new. I've worn them for 2 weeks straight, traveling all over the country. Normally with Dr. Martens and recent other Merrell shoes, they lose that nice tight supportive feel on the sides within a couple of days. My weight contributes to that. With these, they literally feel every bit as supportive as the first time I put them on my feet. I am beyond happy with this shoe. I always wished I would have purchased a bulk of World Passports to put back. I will absolutely be doing that with the World Vue. Maybe because the shoes are "lighter" is why people think they're junk? I don't know, but those people couldn't be more wrong. If you remember/miss the World Passport, here's your answer...Side note: I wear a 14M. The 14M was what I ordered. It fit absolutely perfectly...

Reading the other reviews, I was a bit concerned about these shoes being too big. I normally wear a 13 EEEE in Nikes, so I ordered 13 wides and they are about what I expected in width. They are a bit long compared to what I'm used to. A 12-1/2 wide might be better, but that size wasn't offered.The heels move up and down a little when I walk, so I'm concerned about blisters. The removable insoles are a plus for me, as I use orthopaedic insoles for heel spurs. I always hate to rip out glued in insoles on brand new shoes, so these are great for that. The orthopaedic insoles actually improved the fit a little.I purchased these as my new airport shoes for easier passage through TSA checkpoints. Straight out of the box, I need to put my finger or a shoehorn in the heel to get them on, despite the looseness once they are on, but that often changes as I get used to shoes.It's too soon to comment on quality or wear, but they appear to be well made for what they are. There is not a lot of cushioning - they're more like moccasins in that regard, even with the factory insoles. The color (black slate) is more black and less brown than the image pictured, but I think I can still wear them with brown clothing.

I bought a pair of the older model of these some years ago (the World Passport I think). I love them and still wear them. They're heavy with a thick sole and thick leather. Your foot feels very protected. Great comfort. I wanted to buy another pair but they're no longer available, so I bought these, but these are a different animal - though not a bad one. I like these shoes. They're comfortable, but they are more of a business casual shoe, not a true walking or hiking shoe like the prior model. I think that, to get something close to the prior model, I need to go to something like the Jungle Moc or Moab, but I like the squared off toe on these and the older version of these. I bought a pair in the black slate (which is a black but with a nice grey sole) and a pair in dark brown (with a beige sole). The leather is like a nubuck. They are sturdy and very comfortable. Glad to have bought them.

i bought another of these shoes in a different color. I figured I could buy a black pair and have them fit the same. Unfortunately, the black ones arrived and they are a bit big. I probably should have just sent them back, but I was feeling too lazy and they are close enough to wear. I just feel a bit annoyed when I wear them because they are a bit loose. I hate buying shoes online. I figured I'd finally found one that fits, but you can't trust the size on these.

I work in a hospital, and am on my feet pretty much all day. I needed a business casual shoe that looked nice but also didn't kill my feet. Look no further than this shoe. It's a real lifesaver. It has an amazingly professional look, and an even better fit and comfort to it. Provides amazing support, and I never feel like my feet get sore or tired. Even during the break-in period, the shoe just seemed to be exactly what I was looking for without any discomfort. I typically wear an 11.5, which is what I ordered, and the size was right on the money. I don't have enough good things to say about this product. Have been wearing for about 6 months consistently, and they're in great cheap. If and when they fall apart, I'll gladly order the same pair.

This a different style moccasin shoe than I have had in past. Fit is tight at first, must be broken in. A good looking shoe, excellent quality. I have many pairs of Merrell shoes I have used over the years, still use them.

Been wearing my current pair for over a year now. Still a fair amount of life left in them, and still comfortable to wear all day long. I bought another pair so I can break them in while my current pair is still wearable. I've found it's best to wear the new pair for a couple of hours and then switch to my current pair. This lets me break them in without making my feet hurt, which makes for a much more pleasant work day.

Je les adore. Super confortable. 4 étoiles pour la grandeur. Habituellement je chausse du 9,5 à 10.Pour Merrell c’est habituellement 10. Bon, je crois que je les prends plus grand car j’ai le pied large. Après avoir lu les commentaires, j’ai commandé une pointure 9W. Résultat, trop grand. Je les ai échangés pour une pointure 8,5. Fait très bien et est même légèrement grande. Mais le 8 serait certainement trop petit.Idéal pour les pieds larges et offre également beaucoup d’espace pour les orteils. Je pense m’en procurer une autre paire.Conclusion, commander 1 à 1,5 pointure plud petit.

Way too big. I normally fit a size 11 Merrell which is what I ordered. The 11s that came were miles too big. Plus I didn’t love the material or the tread design so I sent them back and got the Merrill Anvil Pace Moc instead which I like much better.
