No. You do not have to put money in to turn it on. The money has to be manually fed in with a turn knob on the side.

Dose it take in the money automatically

No, usually those with motors have difficulty. We solved that by installing a manual rolling knob on the side. A child feeds a bill in by rotating the knob. For coins, there is a coin slot. Hope that helps.

What is the max amount of money it can hold?

Hello, the ATM can electronically register up to $999.99. From there you will need to make a withdrawl to reduce the balance prior to adding anymore money. If you try to add more at $999.99, it will stay the same.
