Ideal for trapping chipmunks, squirrels, flying squirrels, rats, weasels, and similar-size nuisance animals. ALEKO traps are designed and used by professional trappers. Animal control officers also trust and use ALEKO traps -- so can you! Constructed of sturdy wire mesh with steel reinforcements for long life, and galvanized for maximum resistance to rust and corrosion. Mesh openings are smaller than competing traps of comparable size to prevent escapes and stolen bait. Gravity action door and sensitive trigger ensure quick, secure captures. Solid door and handle guard protect user during transportation, while smoothed internal edges protect and prevent injuries to animals.

Effective trap for squirrels and rats
Red fox squirrels have become a big nuisance in my yard. They destroyed almost all of my fruit crop this year, never mind that they dig holes all over burying acorns. I have caught several squirrels, using fruit as bait. They ignored the walnuts and peanut butter. I also caught several rats as well (they like the peanut butter), didn't know they frequented trees. There were several times the trap was set off with nothing inside. I suspect mice in this case as they can easily go out through the wire mesh; I have set out traps for them as well.It would be nice to have something that would "dispatch" the pests after they are caught; I'd rather not have to kill them myself. But it is the price I am willing to pay to have any fruit crop next year.

like others have said
Since receiving this trap about a week ago I've safely trapped and relocated nearly a dozen gray squirrels. But, like others have said, I found that I had to "tweak" the trigger a bit to get it to work reliably. I also learned that, the trap being small and light, the critters will flip it over when they are trying to get to the bait (peanut butter in this case) through the top or sides before actually entering the trap, thereby tripping the trigger. Now that I have all that worked out the trap has worked flawlessly and I have a new hobby relocating the tree rats to the other side of a broad creek here. They aren't coming back until they learn how to swim!

The trap arrived with no instructions but I found it easy to figure out how to set it
I bought this trap to capture some squirrels that were digging holes all over my yard. The trap arrived with no instructions but I found it easy to figure out how to set it. Within 24 hours of the trap's delivery I had captured 3 squirrels, including the two most destructive ones. They have all been relocated to a park several miles from my home. The trap worked perfectly with a combination of peanuts and peanut butter for bait. The captured squirrels run right out when the gate is opened for their release. I would buy it again and recommend it to anyone who needs to capture squirrels.

My Chipmunks go in an out with no problems.
The trap looks great, but the metal rod connecting the trigger plate and the door has an unstable connection. If its not set perfectly, the animals do not trigger the trap. Also, the door does not snap shut securely. The one time the trap was actually sprung by an animal, it was able to squeeze its way out. I'll likely go purchase a Havaheart.

Good trap
These work. They are a little heavier then others I have bought. The only issue is your hand has to be right at the opening when you release an animal.

Great Trap
Does the job trapping red squirrels. A very reasonable price. Not big enough to fit raccoons or skunks, which I have no interest in trapping or disposing of

But the product itself is fine as far as the design and the quality
A bit small for rabbits really but I did manage to get a small one. A larger size would be more appropriate for rabbits, But the product itself is fine as far as the design and the quality.
