Search for the perfect orthotic for my particular foot may be over
As an ex-runner with Plantar Fascitis, extra-wide feet, and severe pronation, finding a good orthotic for hiking, golf, yard shoes, etc has been a constant search for 2 decades (use bike shoe inserts for cycling). I've even had custom orthotics (total failure). Used one perfect product for over ten years until the manufacturer changed it in the '90s. I am sure I have purchased 20 different types and styles from 8 or more manufacturers, none of which worked as well as these. Finding just the right combination of arch support, anti-pronation design, light weight, and comfort had been impossible until now. I had found some "good enough, not great" orthotics, some of them here on Amazon. Usually purchased an 11-11.5 so that arch would be far enough forward. These popped up as a "suggestion" on my Amazon page based on past purchases. NOTE: The other Power Step products may be good for other individuals, but only these Power Step Pinnacle Max's appeared to have the profile I need, based on over 20 years of experience and experimentation. If I still ran, I would not expect these to hold up as running shoe inserts at my 185-190 weight. The pictures on Amazon appeared to show the necessary heel height and arch support. Thought I had ordered 11-11.5s, (probably my mistake) and received 10-10.5s. Turned out these are perfect. Did not even need trimming to fit in my EE New Balance golf shoes (look like NB running shoes). Walked 9 holes day before they arrived on "good enough" orthotics and my feet burned and were sore, and my ex-runner's knees ached. Played a round with these in the same shoes yesterday and my feet were comfortable the entire time and knees were fine. No burning sensation on the soles, no sore arch afterwards. The heel cup is elevated enough and designed well enough to deal with pronation issue, and the arch support was perfect, because I did not notice it. I can't say anything about longevity or use for my other activities yet, but will buy at least one more pair to put in yard boots, hiking boots, sneakers, traditional golf shoes, etc. Will update once I have sufficient "mileage" with this product with various activities. If they last a decent amount of time, I'll end up with this model in most of my shoes.

Very good insole for basketball
I would play basketball on the weekend and then followed by a week of ankle pain for all these year. Not until recently that I found out that I am a flat footer and that is why the foot pain. After some researches I brought the Powerstep Low version, that was good for casual walk but not enough support for basketball. So I go on and tried this Maxx Support version and it feels right. It took me around 3 weeks to get used to it but after that my ankles are pain free. Very good product. The only complain I have is that orange logo on the insole. That orange pigment dye right onto my socks after an hour of wearing.

the best orthotics I have used in 30 years
These orthotics are great. They provide the arch support my high arches require. And they have a thick foam pad in the heel which is super for sore heels. After wearing a pair of ultra comfortable (worn out) shoes with orthotics, my feet were very sore to the point of not being able to walk on them. After putting these into a lace-up pair of athletic shoes for lateral support, my feet were almost as good as new after a few days. I actually noticed the difference in one day! And they are made in the U.S.A.Buy them, you will not be disappointed.

Holes worn through the foam in 2 months
I have been using Powerstep insoles for the last 6 years. They seem to fit my very low-arch feet and help with support, without digging into my arches in an uncomfortable way. I didn't have any luck with Superfeet or any of the other big brands. The original Powersteps are fine, but the foam gets compacted fairly fast. Within 4-6 months of use there is almost no cushion left under the big toe and ball of the foot. The Powerstep Pinnacles have been my favorite so far, they are thicker, but the foam seems to hold up forever! As long as you can spare the space in your shoes, they are totally worth it. I wear them for work in steel toes and they can take some abuse. The Powerstep Pinnacle Maxx are fairly comfortable but the arch and heel cup are more exaggerated. Luckily the arch is flexible so it doesn't dig into your foot. I won't be buying them again though, because I wore an actual whole through the foam under both big toes in only a couple months. It just seemed to tear away under no particular stress.I just ordered another pair of the Pinnacles and a pair of the ProTechs to try. I don't know why they have to have so many models! If the product is good, you don't need to have 18 different insoles! Either cancel out the old ones, or update them. It reminds me of toothpaste companies that have 25 different types of toothpaste just to occupy shelf space in the market so they can get a bigger brand presence.
