Can be removed. But you won’t need it for long since the shades melt in the sun.

Q: Did anyone mount this on a toy hauler with a ramp door?

No- on dock on lake, but we love it!!!Just bought second one

Q: Has anyone else had the end plugs pull out, making it impossible to secure the shade at the bottom? If so, what did you do?

You can use super glue or contact cement to secure the end plugs in the roller. We nixed the whole idea of using the tiedowns and house-mounted holders and use a bungie cord to secure the shades to posts in our deck.
