Quality Lawnmower
The lawnmower is well built, gives a very good cut, battery life is as stated and easily coped with our large lawn. As with every lawnmower I have owned you can never really fill the grass bag, this one is no different but acceptable. The mower is easy to use, the lowest setting is too low for our lawn as it becomes prone to grounding in places. The setting one up from the lowest is excellent for us leaving a decent, even length of grass. In terms of size this is a 'sizeable' mower, taking up more space in the shed than our old petrol mower and quite heavy to lift. That said it is very manoeuvrable on the lawn compared to our old petrol version. It is very quite, easy to switch between battery packs, and we no longer struggle starting the mower, no petrol fumes, no faffing about filling it with petrol and checking the oil, cleaning the spark plug etc. I would recommend this mower but be sure of the size and weight of this machine will suite you, overall we really rate this mower.

Brilliant mower
It's great to cut the cord, the pull cord, not to have to go and buy petrol that stinks the car out, and it's great to cut the cord, the power cord and not needing to dodge or cut the power cord and potentially electric shock, this is indeed a powerful mower, it handled the first cut of the season perfectly, even though it was slightly damp.Really good wheels helps to keep a nice straight cut, grass box properly sized, any bigger and the grass it's collected would be slightly too heavy for some people.Note I do own a lot of Makita tools as such you may think I'm biased, as I already own batteries and chargers I bought this model on ecology reasons. The construction is pretty bomb proof, I am reasonably sure that it's going to outlast me, and who ever gets my stuff on my passing, don't forget to register your new tool on the Makita website to enjoy the three year warranty.

The Carling made mowers...
Admittedly, I did not buy this mower from Amazon, which is strange because I buy pretty much everything else from Amazon! The mower is great, 10/10 great. It supports 4 battery bays in dual mode, so 2 banks. I have 2 5ah batteries then use 2 3ah as backup in bank 2. My lawn is pretty big and I normally end up switching to bank 2 to finish the job once the 2 5ah batteries are discharged which is about 1.5hrs or so of use. The mower will consume more power/torque when it detects additional power requirements such as long or thicker grass for example, you can hear the motor apply more power when this happens as it will get slightly louder than normal use. That said, it's very quiet compared to our petrol mower. It has 10 cutting settings. Setting 1 is very short I think 20mm or so, too short for our lawn. If you have to push your mower over a gravelled driveway or kerbs etc like we do, I tend to put the cutting height on 10 which I think is about 4 inches if memory serves correct to raise the ride height of it as to not blunt and damage the blades and the metal body. Our petrol mower required 2 people for this because we would carry it over our driveway due to the inflexibility of cutting heights on that mower. It's a 40kilo mower, so its heavy and very large but surprisingly easy to push around. It has a very high handle which I like and my son does not. The handle does not collapse without taking out the bolts. so if you have a small shed/storage area think about this before purchase. I have not yet tried the mulcher but cutting is brilliant. Very happy camper but I am biased due to owning many Makita products.
