JBL does one thing, and does it right - make outstanding speakers, and the ones in here are no exception.
Here is a pair of headphones that do not disappoint. These are the best bank for buck at $40 plus Prime. Sound quality is amazing, no distortion at max volume on my phone on any song. Build quality is very good and feels like it can take a beating, but I won't do that to this bad boy. Very comfortable ear padding, can wear 2+ hours without discomfort. Cable jack is twist-type into the headphones so they cannot fall out and keeps firm contact. I did pony up for these over the J55 for the 50 mm drivers that this model has and it is worth it.

Great sound, cheap construction.
As soon as you pick them up you feel the cheap flimsy plastic they are made of, that will undoubtable break. The fact that ear cups spin is nice, but the fit is much to loose in order for them to stay on or work properly. These headphones can only be used while you are stationary. Any major movements and they will shake right off. However, the cable provided is a nice flat non-tangle and they throw in a nice padded carrying case. I am still giving them 3 Stars because it is the sound quality you come to expect from JBL. The bass could be a little deeper, but the overall sound quality is far better than it should be for the price tag. It is clear they saved the money on materials in order to bring the price down.

Ear pad damage
The ear pad on the set I received arrived damaged as many others have described here (see pictures). The sound is decent but not as good as other headphones I have had in the past. The sound varies depending on the recording. Some songs sound fantastic and some songs sound muffled. My purchase price was below thirty dollars delivered which somewhat tempered my expectations. But still and all I must say that I was slightly disappointed with the product I received. I haven't decided yet if I will return them or just buy a set of replacement pads (7$) and try and make them work. I like the cord and the way it locks in to the headphones with a twist. And I like that when I put them on, I do not hear much in the way of external noise. If you order these headphones, be prepared to either have the pads arrive with damage, or for the seam inside the pads to fail very quickly after purchase, as there is obviously a defective manufacturing process in place concerning the ear pads. However they still function and are comfortable to wear even with the damage.

Sound good, but terrible build quality.
These headphones sound good, but they are not built to last. I have only had these headphones for a little over a month and the earpad covers have already started tearing. I took extremely good care of the headphones. I always disconnected the cable and put them in the included bag when I was done using them. Last week I took them out of the bag and one earcup was torn, exposing the phome. The other earcup was fine. I set the headphones down on my desk and went to go do something. Five minues later when I went to pick them up, I noticed the other earcup had torn. The damage occured all on its own. Listen to all the other reviewers who have pointed out this flaw. No matter how well you take care of these headphones, they will break on their own.

not perfect, but still pretty good. give them a shot.
These sound pretty good. J55s were very good, and these are an improvement.. pros: The sound, thanks to big 50mm speakers, is very clear. The base is better than j55, and overall sound is more refined than them.I expected more base, but it still has enough, and you will hear it more as you keep using them. It sounds great with movies and games. Play horror or watch some. Will be great. Only genre of music that lacks is rock, but its not a big, huge issue, and will still be crystal clear, which really makes up for it. Pro 2: Comes I nice packaging, with a nice little bag to protect headphones from scratches. Pro 3: The frequency is really good, and they can get really loud.. cons: The build sucks. You need to be gentle, since its plastic and metal. As long as you can keep them safe, you should be ok. The actual drivers(speakers), are very big, probably not good for travel, but the trade off is that you get crystal clear sound. The bag won't do much to protect the headphones. The bass could be a little better, but its not the end of the world.Overall: For 40/50 bucks, these are excellent. They can compete with headphones in 100-150 range (which is around original price for these). I'd say buy them, burn (break) them in to get full sound, and enjoy

Really good headphones, live the design and how big they ...
Really good headphones, live the design and how big they are, I bought them mainly to use with my glasses on , they worked just right, the sound quality is really good only missing the bass, otherwise the sound is really crisp and max volume is real loud, couldn't even use them an 75 % sound level, the cable is really nice as is a flat cable and also the j88 "i" will work with android devices but from the in line controlers on the cable the center button is the only one that is going to work I could hear or see anything different apart from that .

Amazing for the money
Amazing sound and extremely comfortable. The only problem I have with it is the cord is to short for what I need it for

Good sound quality, terrible build quality
TL;DR[Pros]Good sound qualityLoudNice clarityCheap[Cons]Terrible build qualityPlug connection to the cup locks into place (for those that prefer the cord to just come unplugged instead of the headphones being ripped off)Purchased these a few months back hoping that some of the reviews saying that they were falling apart quickly were wrong. Unfortunately, they were correct. The thin cover on the cups ripped within the first week of use. While this is technically a minor issue, it was annoying to see a brand new product falling apart so soon. The quality of the sound is spot on, and I would say it's a good deal for the money spent (aside from build quality problems).Just this last week, I picked them up to use them and they broke. I lightly spread the cups apart to place them upon my head, and some plastic near the foam headband part just snapped. After inspecting it, the area where it was held together is quite thin and weak.
