Only facemasks that are sealed and have respirators can protect against germs. The standard 3M mask that you normally see is actually to prevent your germs from spreading to others, not to protect yourself. This is sort of facemask is to protect against dirt, dust, and cold while riding, not germs.

Yes, definitely! That is how I am wearing it today! They work really well as headbands.

Q: what is micro fiber microns ?

I don’t know that what the fiber is but I use it when riding my motorcycle in temps below 70 degrees. Usually it’s 30 degrees cooler when I leave the house. It not only keeps my face and neck warm it somehow keeps out the wind. I love this thing, take it with me on all my long trips of multiple days and will buy it again. Hope this helps.

I wash mine with other delicate items which seems to work fine.
