Ergon SMC4 Comp

I am a 5' 10", 185 lb. middle-aged avid mountain biker with an OMB (Old Man Butt)--not much padding. Finding a really comfortable performance saddle has been a long process. Most saddles (including the WTB that came stock on my Yeti SB5), cause discomfort after 45 minutes of riding, or so.Also tried: Tioga MTB Undercover ChroMo (now my road saddle), Specialized Power Arc Pro Elaston, Fabric Scoop Elite Radius AND Line Race, & WTB Koda Team.This Ergon SMC4 Gel beats them all. I find that I can definitely ride longer without feeling like I'm riding on a saddle made of concrete, & 20+ mile rides are enjoyable. The saddle is light, but a bit heavier than most of the others I've tried. It feels firm to the touch--a little softer than the other saddles I've tried, but not "gel squishy." The nose of the saddle is long, & a little wider than most, and not really tapered, but that is not a problem. The lower-front "edges" (where the back of one's legs press/rub as you pedal) are not only padded, but also rounded off nicely, unlike some of the other saddles I've tried which are almost sharp on that front edge (Specialized, boo). So, if you suffer from OMB, get this Ergon saddle; your butt will thank you! : )

But my trips are short, only about 20 miles or less each, so I will need to ride longer distance to really test this saddle. I like it so far though.

After several saddles, this was perfect for me and for my riding style. Ergon has a website that "scientifically" gets yoir measurements and based on your responses, a recommended saddle will come up. I got this Ergon SMC4 Comp Gel and I have to say that "This is it!"

Absolutely necessary for anyone wanting to ride over an hour. Feels great and not much more weight than my plastic hard awful saddle

Very high quality saddle. Extremely light weight. I do not comment on comfort as every rider will have a different experience.

Ich habe mir dieses Teil als Ersatz für den Originalsattel an meinem Corratec-MTB zugelegt. Der Originalsattel war für einen überwiegenden Tourenfahrer wie mich deutlich zu hart. Da ich aufgrund der Wetterlage noch keine längeren Touren gefahren bin, kann ich bisher nur sagen, dass der Sattel bei den Einstellarbeiten schon einen viel bequemeren Eindruck als der Originalsattel hinterlassen hatte. Mit Radlerhose wird dann ein ganz neues Fahrgefühl vorhanden sein.

Ottima sella, montata sulla mia MTB senza problemi. Ottimi materiali e una volta abituati alla lunghezza un po' maggiore di quelle comuni, si va alla grande.
