Big Kano, blue
My 3rd Orient watch now, just fantastic watches, the 44mm Kano's are perfect, fit great on the wrist and just wonderful to look at. At these prices you won't find a better watch.

Fantastic Value
This is my first Orient watch, and my first diver. The case is rather large at 44 mm, and the length from lug tip to lug tip being just over 50mm. It wears great, however, on my 20.5 cm wrist, and I reckon it would be still be perfect down to about 17-18 cm, your mileage may vary. The case is about 13mm thick which is again, not too bad.The dial has a fairly light sunburst effect that is only obvious in direct sunlight but overall it’s a nice blue tone. Hour markers are applied, although these don’t protrude much. The hour & minute hands are matte while the seconds hand is mirror polished, with an orange triangle tip that complements the colour accent on the bezel. Both the markers and the hour & minute hands are filled with lume, even the seconds hand has a triangle shaped lume tip. The lume is greenish hue, the type that starts with a bright glow that drops quickly, however it maintains a “long burn”, I can easily read it in a dark room 7 hours after. The case has a circular brushed effect on the top of the lugs, with the case sides and back mirror polished, with the inner circle of the case back circular brushed again. Finish is good for the price. The face of the unidirectional bezel looks aluminium, its action feels slightly “smudgy” but it does click and it has definite stops, albeit slightly misaligned which I don’t mind much. The dial is behind a flat mineral crystal which has no scratches after 2 months of ownership, having worn it for about 3 weeks in total. The movement seems to gain approx 11 seconds when worn which is again okay, it’s not chronometer grade after all, and I’ve seen much worse on way more expensive Japanese models. You can feel the rotor moving around when on the wrist but nothing overly pronounced, I like it. The ticking sound however is very faint, I can barely hear it when sticking the case to my ear.The screw down crown on my copy is easy to unscrew and screw back, winding action is good, although isn’t very substantial compared to what I’m used to. Position 1 on the crown sets the date and the day of the week, depending on turning direction. Make sure to not use this function between 9 and 3 o’clock: the date wheel starts to turn 1.5 hours before midnight, and the day wheel 1.5 hours after. Position 2 hacks seconds. The strap is nothing to write home about: a standard, if not mediocre, grainy textured silicone affair. I decided to put on a Swiss 60s style orange silicone strap, and there’s my summer beater sorted! I’ve also a blue FKM rubber strap which suits it better then than the original in my opinion – see photos.Overall, it is fantastic value for a 200m WR diver, provided the somewhat larger size suits well on your wrist. No regrets from my side so far, will update if this changes.

Nice looking watch
Nice looking watch. Shame the back was badly scratched, looked like someone had taken the back casing off.Returned for refund. Was probably worth it at £89 what I paid but couldn't get past the marks and the fact it had been opened.
