Can it be left outside?

Galvanized steel is coated with Zinc. This allows the item to be in contact with water and not to rust. But water does slowly leach the zinc off the surface so if you leave it outside you will shorten it's life. Online search shows an estimate of galvanized steel lasting about 10 years if it is in constant contact with water. So the bucket will last a long time but you will shorten that time if it is keep in an open environment.

Can you leave water in it 24/7? I do so some of the nasties in my water evaporate. Also is the inner of the can painted?

I don’t quite understand why you would want to leave water in the container 24/7? The answer would be no. The container comes with a tube of sealant to seal the rivet joints that will leak after time. The spray bucket works beautifully. It isn’t so large that weight would be a factor and is easy to handle/control that limits spillage. The inside is not painted.
