Very good quality but I had to return it it was to big for me .

Why did you choose this product over others?:Solid construction

Fed up with standard strainers where the handle is spot welded to the frame. Invariably the weld gives way. This strainer has a solid metal handle bolted to the rim so should give years of use.Only complaint is that it was not well packaged (just put in a paper bag) and arrived with the mesh half caved in. I managed to push the mesh back into shape so it is nearly even. Hence, 4 stars.

No idea about durability - only just purchased, but it's happy to go in the dishwasher, and is large enough to drain fries on/in. Ergo it meets my requirements

good size metal siv yes it is bigger than the old plastic ones, but this one is sturdy i would recommend

Stainless steel sieve for larger needs

I bought this as it has very sturdy, riveted handles - it was to replace one where the handle solder had failed. I am delighted with this one - the quality is outstanding and it's a big sieve, so it's a handy alternative to a colander for draining rice or small pasta or grains.

The bowl part of this sieve is 22.5cm (9 inches) wide. This may be too large for some people. 20cm (8 inches) is more normal, so check your requirements.The mesh is fine and the rivets fixing the handle and wide hook to the bowl mean it's robust. So you can rinse ingredients as fine as quinoa, without it passing through, and tap them out into your pan without damaging the sieve.However, the handle, including its hanging-hole, and the wide hook opposite have some sharp-ish edges which could dig into your fingers and hand. It's such a pity that this aspect of finish has been neglected, as in all other respects it is well finished. As as a result, I can't recommend this sieve and will be returning it.
