Like many items purchased online, this item came with no instructions for extending the file. I almost returned it before figuring it out.

It’s a glass saver
Are use the file to smooth edges on some vintage wine glasses, and was able to keep them for years. It worked great.

I like that, despite being of compact size, the file contains both level and rounded surfaces. I used the flat surface to sharpen 4 small sets of scissors that I use to take cuttings from terrarium begonias. Those scissors are super sharp now. Huge improvement. The rounded surfaces I used to smooth the rims of drinking glasses I made from some nice thick wine bottles. That went well, also.I strongly recommend users wear safety classes, protective gloves, and long sleeves. Also, one should keep in mind that the small bits of glass, metal ceramic, etc that one removes with the file are going to go somewhere. I suggest one make sure these near invisible pieces don't end up on countertops or floors where they can hurt people or pets.
