WEIDMULLER 9005000000 STRIPPING TOOL, 28-7AWG, 25MM

I'm an aircraft mechanic and don't spend all day wiring but when I am doing a wiring job I need precisely stripped wire. These wire strippers are hands down the best best I've ever used, it took a few practice wires but after that I get perfectly stripped wire at the exact length I need every time. I have used them on a wide range of gauge from 14 to 24 AWG. I have recommended these to everyone I work with and anyone I know that has to strip wires.

I use this tool to strip a variety of types of wires. It works well every time. You will need to adjust the tension for different wires types. There are cheaper strippers, but they don't work as well. If you strip wires for more than a hobby, get a tool that lasts.

This wire stripper is built with the quality of German design and construction that you would expect from a company like Weidmuller. The adjustments are easy to fine tune for the length and depth of the stripper and the range of wire sizes that it will work with is hard to beat. I found it easy to use and comfortable and in particular the design of the grip on this model makes it hard to pinch the web of your hand, unlike some other brands’ models. Good stuff!

I had one in my previous job, highly recommended when you're striping wires for control panels.Not recommended for wires greater equal than 12 AWG.

I have a wide assortment of Weidmuller electrical hand tools. So, when I needed to replace a wire stripper I turned to their brand. The tool is high quality and well designed. The failure is the cutting blades. The tool will strip soft insulation. They fail on PTFE or Teflon insulation. Pressmaster (EMBLA VBC) from Sweden uses a cartridge with opposing razor blades, which I have used for many years. I will be returning the Weidmuller strippers.

I've been waiting until I've used these enough to give an honest review. I've used them to build 4 test panels at my work which have 600 terminals each so 2,400 wires stripped not counting all the times I used them not on this project.From all that use, I have only had 1 failure. It was caused by a very small piece of wire insulation getting stuck inside the mechanism, once removed they were working again. The gauge size setting is very forgiving, and stripping 28-7awg wire can be done by only using three of the wire gauge position settings. The insulation stop does what it needs to, doesn't slide around while working and has enough teeth to set the strip length to all of the connectors that I use. For anyone who makes tons of connections that require a specific strip length then I highly recommend these.
