An Epic Start to an Amazing Series!
I recently started watching Vikings: Season 1, and I am completely hooked! This show captures the spirit and intensity of the Viking era with incredible authenticity. The storytelling is top-notch, with well-developed characters and gripping storylines that keep you engaged from start to finish. Ragnar Lothbrok, played brilliantly by Travis Fimmel, is an intriguing character—both fierce and intelligent, and it's fascinating to watch his journey unfold. The cinematography is stunning, with breathtaking landscapes and impressive battle scenes that look epic without feeling overly dramatized. There's a real grit and realism to this series that makes you feel like you’re right in the Viking Age.If you enjoy historical dramas with strong characters and action, Vikings is an absolute must-watch. Season 1 sets the stage perfectly for an epic adventure. Highly recommended!

Exquisite Interpretion of Norse Adventures
Initially I picked up a copy of Vikings Season 1 from our local library. I liked it so much that I ordered the season from Amazon in 2014. As northern Winters are rather long, I’m recycling through Vikings past seasons, and enjoying them as much as my original viewings. Perhaps not for all tastes if one reads many of the other reviews, but for those of us who enjoy Vikings, I’d say to anyone who might be interested, it’s worth a try.The series centers around the character Ragnar Lothbrook wonderfully played by Travis Fimmel. Initially he appears cut from the “typical” Viking mode, but upon further development we find a playful, passionate, curious, ambitious, and at times brutal man. The first season documents his rise to power from a farmer and seasonal raider, to the Earl of his village. Very good character development ensues in regard to his wife Lagertha, brother Rollo, shipbuilder and jester Floki, as well as his young son and daughter and friends and enemies. The cast becomes set, and new characters forshadow the coming season. As no real written records document Norse mythology, the creative minds behind Vikings incorporate enough mythology into their storylines to create interesting rationale for how the Vikings live, Love, and fight. This first season provided me the incentive to read Kevin Crossley-Holland’s ‘The Norse Myths’ and Daniel McCoy’s ‘The Viking Spirit’. As most of what we know about Norse mythology Is fragmented and somewhat influenced by the Christianity of those who put Norse mythology into words, Vikings incorporates an innovative way to begin to bootstrap Christian influence into the world of Ragnar and the Vikings.

Vikings series 1
I recently watched one episode out of curiosity as i purchased this by accident thinking it to be a documentary. Anyway the Viking King in this picture says "We will invade Paris". This engaged me although this is a series it must be based on some fact as the French became so sick of VIKING Invasions they gave them what is now known as "NORMANDY, FRANCE. Called Normandy which comes from the nick m=name North men as Vikings were described. So Normandy many may think refers to North France but it means much more than that. Eventually the Normans invaded England also around the 9th Century and King Alfred the Great of Wessex came to a pact with the invading Vikings and gave them the Eastern side of England starting around York where they often landed. There is a book called "BLOOD OF THE VIKINGS" and there was a program of the same name which has not been released onto DVD as yet. A very high % of Males only have Viking blood in England. This is omitting the others such as Pakistani etc. This accounts for why there are so many fair light eyed (BLUE) eyed actors we see in England. It is not unusual to see a grouo of actors together and all are blue eyed. This is something i have noted and if you watch any Scandivanian, Norway/Denmark series or movies there is a high number of blue eyed fair haired people. This is something i have noticed.

VIKINGS: HISTORY AND FICTION ITS AMAZING!!!!!!!
What an AWESOME experience I love the history and the fact it is not just a show it's a way of life. Very well written with great cast and guest stars as well. It's so true to life for even now, how the church was running everyone's life during that period and they say things like their women don't obey and they don't cover themselves. The same thing our troops get to hear now, just as we've all heard at some point. It's amazing times change but people not so much and it's just as the Holy men in some of the Islamic Countries run the government and no different than how the Vatican had these rules in medieval times (like branding a woman) even if the husband had no proof of her being unfaithful. Absolutely no different than the horrible Sharia Law and how they stone or slice the throat of their women (even if they were raped it's the woman's fault) or cut off a young woman's ears and nose as a statement to remind the other women they'll marry whom ever they're told to marry. This is a must see and you'll most certainly want to see season one then two to really get up to date on everything and how the story line has come to be. However, you can start watching where it's at and be completely hook in only two episodes. So enjoy and I must say (BRAVO VIKINGS) to a well written and superbly acted show!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
