It’s not waterproof, however they do have a waterproof version. And it is long lasting.

This is my favorite mascara that I've been using for years it doesn't, but I think with all mascaras it's the way you apply it. Just gently twist the brush in the bottle so you don't gunk it up and slowly apply to your eyelashes
