Very nice!
I love using this rice paper. Very good quality, reasonably priced. Perfect for pulling prints for collage.

A joy to use
It’s really really smooth to write on with brushes, if you know what you’re doing. It also absorbs ink remarkably fast, so it’s a joy to do japanese or Chinese calligraphy on. Be sure to put something under it, as it will bleed a bit (it’s very thin and delicate). Also, after using it with brushes loaded with lots of ink, be sure to put it under even pressure for a couple hours right after it dries. Otherwise, it will quickly start to warp and crinkle. To avoid warping, I’ve found you have to immediately put it under pressure and leave it for a while (books, lots of paper, boxes, etc.) no complaints, it’s a joy to use after you get used to it’s properties.

Good and cheap Japanese rice paper
This rice paper is perfect to practice Sumi ink. To start with, I like its texture, and it is a good quality too.Furthermore, on this support, the ink does not spread too much so it ruins your work when you paint contrarily to the sheets I had bought somewhere else a few month ago (it was not on Amazon). I will probably buy more in the future. Rice paper is a great and pleasant support to paint on,I recommend it as a different experiment. I like, for instance, to paint illustrations on it, and then to use it to wrap my friends's gifts, it is really nice and different.100sheets Japanese Chinese Caligraphy Rice Paper #1932.

The papers are fine. Terrible packing.
I am Japanese. The papers are for calligraphy, the same as the Japanese used in Japanese schools. Smoothness, thinness, and color are typical and expected for calligraphy use. The masters and pros use better papers. The pro knows what this is. The paper was shipped in a bag and damaged—Amazon’s issue.

I like this as a practice paper for Chinese Brush Painting
I am learning Chinese Brush Painting after doing watercolors for several years, and I purchased this for practice paper. It is not quite as thick as my 'better' rice paper, (it feels about the same weight as tracing paper and is semi-translucent), but it does have a similar appearance and absorbancy as the heavier and more expensive paper. As a result, it reacts to the water, paint, and ink in a similar manner, so it is a very good surface for practice. At this price I have no hesitation about using the paper or worries about making mistakes or wasting a sheet, so I can relax and practice my brush strokes or color loading and see what the results would look like in a finished painting. When it dries, this paper does wrinkle and 'draw up' a bit more than the heavier paper, but again, for practice work this isn't a problem. I haven't tried to mount any of this paper to see if that would reduce the wrinkling and make a decent finished product, but as my skills improve, I might play around with the mounting process just to see what happens. This product meets my needs very well, so I would definitely recommend it as a practice paper for anyone learning Sumi-e or Chinese Brush Painting.

it is easy for practice
The paper is very thin, but hold Chinese ink stone ink very well, no spreading. I used it for Chinese Calligraphy with my stone ink, and I put a grid under it, it is easy for practice. The bad thing is the paper shrinks on the words you wrote, and wrinkles pretty bad, I don't expect you can mount that paper easily since it is very very thin. One side of paper is very flatten smooth, and the other side is textured with a little rough surface which more suit for calligraphy writing, I used the rough side for writing. For practice, this is a good source, but it is not good for your final product. The other bad thing is: the sender packaged the paper by folding it in a half to fit to a paper box, that is bad bad. Hope the sender will never fold this type of stocking paper for anyone in the future.

WORST rice paper of all time
The media could not be loaded. It’s not just that it’s thinner and more flimsy than any other rice paper, it’s that it also has lines running across it that interfere with what I’d planned to use it for.

A must try fine paper
This very light laid paper is a delight. It makes a crisp fold in all directions and tales ink well on the smooth side. Pencil glides effortlessly.Very good for tracing and practicing lettering by going over and over a Masters example to build muscle memory. I am also going to use it as an inside sheet in hand made paper cards, it will be so nice to write on, even with a ballpoint. AND the price is good value. So many thingsto try with this soft delicious paper.

Dont buy
Disappointed. The size is too small. And the quality is poor. Packaging was terrible. Received torn and bent sheets.
