Great for autistic children
I have an autistic grandson who seems to have a mathematic ability. He just finished 1st grade and he was accepted for an extended summer program. During a summer session he started telling his summer teacher multiplication tables through six. We just keep the placemat out and he has learned far more than expected at 7 yrs old. I will be ordering the periodic table placemat next. I also have the world map placemat and he's learning it at an amazing rate. I highly recommend these placemats for autistic children as well as atypical children.

Convenient for homework
My son is having a hard time memorizing his multiplication tables and I really wanted something like the 5x7 card I had when I was his age. I couldn't find anything like that, so I settled for this placemat. It has turned out to be very helpful... he uses it as a placemat when he is having a snack after school and can review the chart while he is eating. Then, because the table where he does his homework has a lot of grooves, this makes a nice, smooth surface for him to work. I like that it is laminated so it is easy to wipe clean. The only thing that bothers me a bit (but not my son) is that the equations are in the reverse order from the way I learned them - but that is just my quirky thing.

homework lifesaver
My son struggles with his multiplication tables. Doing math homework takes an eternity as he struggles to recall them. We've tried flash cards, apps and all kinds of tricks but they just don't stick. Frankly I can't recall most of my multiplication facts quickly either and I am a gainfully employed adult.I put this matt down on the kitchen table next to him when he does his homework. He's able to quickly find the answer as he does more complex (3 digit and 4 digit) multiplication problems, and it saves a lot of time, frustration and tears. He still has to do the individual steps unlike just using a calculator to solve the entire problem.

Makes learning so easy!
I think I bought all the “painless learning” materials. My son learned so much on his own by just using these placemats.

double sided awesomeness
Enjoy the "chalk board" look on the front side for memorization, on the flip side children can practice their numbers with the math problems on the back, i enjoy that it is easy to clean when using Vis A Vis wipeable markers. Great help for my daughter these past years.

It's truly a painless way to practice multiplication
This has helped my 4th grader so much with his multiplication tables practice. 4 sets a night during the week and 2 on weekends started out as a nightmare for him, but now he's speeding through his multiplication tests. I highly recommend this. Dry erase marker and wipe away although I use a dry paper towel to wipe it clean instead of the erasers on the markers as they tend to smear instead of clean.
