Thank you!!I used this one time when I first ordered it 2 months ago. Then last night I took it out to use and the device defective, just making beeping sounds and blinking all digits/not registering any info. I tried removing batteries for a hard reset and still not working. I want to exchange for a new one but don't think I can now... very disappointed. With all the good reviews I think I just got a lemon/defective product. It happens...

I routinely use instant read thermometers, as I am retired and spend much of my days cooking. Best use for me is checking the water temperature before I mix in yeast for baking. These devices have saved many loaves of bread. This is heavier than others I have used and easy to read. This works well for a quick check of a roast and other meats. The cool down alarm is healpful. I have not tester the water proof to one meter depth as my wife objects to my under water grilling ideas but I have checked the pool temperature! This is an excellent product.

Works perfectly! Normally I prefer using my "old timey" things in the kitchen, but my old(40+ yrs) meat thermometer was so slow and it never seemed accurate. So, I caved and bought this new fangled thermometer. I'm very glad I did! It works so fast and it accurate!! Its also easy to clean too.UPDATE: I've changed my mind about this. I put a new battery in it when I got it. Now, only 6 months later, the battery is already dead again and I've only used it 3 times. I think I'll go back to my old one. It doesn't take batteries. I won't be buying this again. I love the idea of the accuracy of the readout but it eats up batteries. Giving it 1 star

This is a very good thermometer. It comes with complete instructions on its use, including how you can calibrate it using ice water. I don't know of any other thermometer in this price range that allows for calibration. The length of the probe makes it perfect for use while barbecuing as it keeps your hands away from the heat. It is equally effective for a quick reading of something in an oven or in a pot. It registers the temperature in seconds. It also comes with a plastic sheath to protect the probe and to protect other things from the probe. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase. This is my new go to thermometer for cooking!

I've been looking for a good meat thermometer for the price. This thermometer offers a feature I've never seen in a kitchen utensil: a temperature alarm. You can set the alarm temperature and the thermometer will alert you once the medium has reached the desired temperature. This makes cooking candy apples much easier. I've tested the water proof feature (for washing) and it seems to work great. Temperature readings seem to be spot on as well.

Thermometer works well, in finding the internal temperatures. It shipped with cell batteries, unfortunately, those drained totally (as there was no material to stop it from draining as it was already inserted in the battery chamber). Initially, I thought I had a defective unit, but decided to change the batteries, and it worked.

Finally.. a good thermometer ! After going through several lesser ones, this is one that's actually decent and reliable. It's not the fastest and did need a battery change after 6 months, but it just works and gives an accurate reading ( when compared to a known calibrated thermometer ).

Great thermometer. It measures the temperature quickly and accurately, is easier to use than our previous one, and is easy to read the temperature. We initially received a defective unit that was missing a manual, but we ordered a replacement and that one works great!
