Necessary!
If you have a device requiring type 3, you are going to need a handful of these little buggers. Stash 1 in the utility tray in each car. Keep one near your charging station when you have a friend crashes over and forgets their chord. Similarly, if you have a bestie that you are always with, drop one in their car and in their junk drawer for when you forget your chord. Lastly, keep one at work. You will probably never need it yourself, but these are so cheap, that it is worth having one there to impress the boss who doesn't have a chord at work. You will wow him by having something that he has never seen before and impress him with your mad preparedness skills.

Thought it would be a great alternative
I thought these would be awesome & they were at first, but quickly began to decline.1 metal piece came out of the plastic part as soon as I went to insert it in to my phone. Ok, I have three left...long story short, I just lost my last one and they all broke the same way by the metal piece coming out of the plastic casing. The scary thing was often times when I went to remove the charger the metal would want to stay in the phone and the plastic was coming without it. Phones cost too much money for that crap to happen. So, I tried but definitely won't be doing again.

my expectations were pretty low. However
Since these were so reasonably priced, my expectations were pretty low. However, I was pleasantly surprised! They fit the chargers and phone snuggly and stay in place well. I have them all in use and very happy with them!

Perfect for the switch to the S8. Does not work with S5 cords.

Good Adapters
I just got the S8 so all my S6 adapters were obsolete. These worked. I was careful as lot of feedback and reviews said others did not work.

They fast charge fine
But they would do data between PC and phone. Not a big deal for me as I did but then for charge only.
