If i have 2 passive speakers (250w cont/1000w peak) will a 2000 watt amp be cutting too close? Should i go with a 4000 watt model?

Please keep in mind I'm coming from an audiophile background but you do know the difference between 2000 and 4000 watts is 3db, right? Also keep in mind that these are transient/peak output numbers which probably don't translate into the real world. A 15amp 120V outlet can supply 1800 watts (watts=amps x volts). Assuming 100% efficiency (which no amplifier achieves anything close to that), that's it. These output numbers are fictional.

Is this amp putting out the advertised wattage ?

Hard to answer as I am not an electronics engineer nor do I have the necessary equipment to measure the amps performance parameters. What I can say is that I am satisfied with this amp and use it to drive a transducer that "shakes" the furniture. It seems to have sufficient enough power to move a 6 lb core to accomplish the desired result.

Does this have enough power to use for a home stereo amp ? Is it really loud ?

Yes. I have 2 of these and an EP4000 in a home system. Crazy power.
