Let me get this out of the way first....What really bugs me is when people review a product because of the PRICE. Review the PRODUCT and report it here. Don't skew the rating! As far as the price, J&J discontinued this product for some reason, and the demand is high. Rules of supply and demand, people! Of COURSE you are going to pay more. For those saying to buy it elsewhere for $5, GOOD LUCK. It is in no stores right now (target, walmart, walgreens, kmart, toys r us, etc) and hasn't been for 6 months.Back to reviewing the actual product....3 years ago, I bought one bottle on a whim on the clearance rack at Kmart. It smelled nice and felt nice and it was $2. Win. I brought it home and started using it on my 1 year old daughter and started noticing that when she was wearing it and we were outside in the evenings (short periods), she came in with little to no mosquito bites, which was unusual for her. Curious, I check out the reviews online and sure enough, people were also using it a a bug repellent. RAVING about it as a bug repellent is more accurate. Let me explain why this is such a win in our family....We love being able to spend time outdoors on out porch, but since my husband who is allergic and daughters are so attractive to mosquitoes, we had to layer on real bug spray. I don't know about anyone else, but I can't stand going to bed with bug spray on. Because of that, I'm having to bath my kids every time we are outdoors, which is often. This product saves me from having ONE MORE THING to do at home. Would I use this in deep woods camping? Probably not. But at home for evenings on my porch? YOU BET. It is effective for that purpose.Is it maddening that 2 months ago I paid $19 for one bottle on amazon? Yes, especially since I found it so cheap in the first place. Today it was listed for $13, which I hope is a good sign. I wish J&J would be clear on their intent with the future of this lotion, but until then, the price is worth it to me for the benefits. I'll just be REALLY sparing with what I have left....

I buy 3-4 at a time for repelling mesquite! It smells good and is a good lotion too. It’s thick but doesn’t feel thick on. Mesquite do not bite me. Win Win!

This is great scent and keeps bugs away also.

I read many reviews on this before purchasing for a trip to Mexico. I knew the mosquitoes were going to be bad there. And they were bad. I bought this stuff and loaded up my legs, arms and tops of my feet and across my back every time I left the hotel room for a solid month. This stuff is really good for anti mosquito bits. I usually get bitten when NO-ONE else in the room is getting bitten, but me. And this stuff works. I will say you got to put it on more than once if you get hot or get in a pool or go in the ocean. Better bring it with you and reapply. Bugs don't like this stuff. Thank God.

My primary purpose for purchasing this item was because of the rave reviews I have read about this product deterring mosquitos from biting you. I'm always the person the little buggers target. I cannot run around covered in DEET all the time!!! This had no effect on their thirst for my blood. I slathered this on thickly all over my body and still got numerous bites. As far as a lotion, it does feel hydrating and smells fresh. But I will not purchase again as there are other lotions I prefer.

Haven’t tried for mosquitoes yet, but I do find myself grabbing it and applying it just bc it smells nice. It’s a nice creamy lotion.

I just moved to Key West and was getting eaten alive. I had to use Deet every time I left the house, no matter the time. I was tired of the raid-y scent of Deet and my sister in-law told me this stuff worked as a repellent. It really does!! And the scent isn't that traditional baby powder scent I don't like. it's very mild. it is a great moisturizer as well.
