Will the tape stick and hold to a cubicle wall?

If you’re talking about the cubical walls made of fabric, you might of some issues. Mine had trouble adhering to Formica lockers, so we had to heat up the tape to loosen it up and get it warm first to work. You may have to do the same for the fabric, but just know it’ll be a pain in the @ss to remove.

is the adhesive removable or is it permanent?

It is NOT like the "Command" strips that come right off. It is a sticker that could potentially peel the paint off the wall if you pull at it.
