Although mass produced in China, this knife fits both my budget and requirements.

It does its job well although it can be a bit cumbersome.

One of the reasons I ordered this cleaver was for processing deer during hunting season. We got a deer and got to finally try it out. My husband reports back the it slices through meat like nobody's business. But when it came time to need to chop some bone (in this case he was trying to chop a rib) it rolled the edges and the cleaver was struggling hard. He never did get through the bone. So keep that in mind with this, if you are planning to use it for anything hard. Fortunately we have a knife sharpening block because the edges are toast after the dear and need to be sharpened again to make the cleaver usable.

This full shank cleaver is just what I needed for our camp kitchen setup!It can dice, chop, cut through bone, smash, and julien like a fine set of knives, but this is a single kitchen tool!I sharpened this right out of the box and it kept a very sharp edge through an entire weekend camping trip and I used it to prepare food to cook for every meal!It cleans up nice but treat this like a fine high dollar knife and it should last a lifetime!I coated it with a thin coat of cooking oil. Still just as sharp as the day I put the razor edge on it.The sheath is nice too, it protege knife and the edge, and I can throw it in our camping tote and not worry about someone getting cut!

Craftsmanship on this knife is beautiful! Everything is so nice. The packaging, the holder and knife itself. It wasn’t as sharp though which was a bummer but we are trying other things to see how well it does. Overall its a solid knife.

The knife is built pretty well to last long.. an impressive one! I got it to cut the steak meat and chops as per my requirements and it did work wonderfully slicing through the meat and bones. It is kind of heavy, arrived sharp (you may still need to sharpen it a bit after long use), and has a leather sheath to protect/carry it around for those outdoor camping, bbq meals. Initially, the weight might be bothersome, if you are not used to heavy knives but once you get the hang you can cut like a pro. I also tried chopping different vegetables and it did a good job with them too. Hence, it sure could be your one handy gadget for those outdoor fun night meals.One thing I made sure of is I cleaned it well, dried it off, and put a bit of oil (just to be on the safe side) before storing it back in the drawer and it was all good. Very satisfied!

This knife is great. It's very sharp and cuts smoothly through meat and vegetables. It is a heavy weight which is nice and the handle has a good grip. I especially like that it comes with a sheath so that I can safely carry it with my camping utensils.

The media could not be loaded.  I love the medieval look to this chopping knife. My first use I cut through some cold rib eye steak and it cut through it like soft butter (see video). It is a well built heavy duty knife with a full tang blade which is hard to find these days. It weighs just over a pound so if you want a small light weight knife this is not it. This knife has some weight to assist in the chopping. I chopped up veggies and lettuce for my birds chop in half the time it normally takes me. I was able to mince it fast. I love this knife and have tested it by cutting through lemons, and even a small watermelon. This is a chopping knife not a pearing knife so obviously it will perform best when used on items it was intended for. It also comes with a beautiful real leather storage sheath that actually could be worn on a belt if desired (could be worn to a rennasaince fair or medieval festival). This would be a great gift for any one who likes to cook, hunt, or LARP. I definitely recommend it if you're tired of sawing through things with dull old knives like I was. Saves my hands from extra work and with Carpal tunnel and arthritis that is a big bonus for me.
