Been using a Sodastream Crystal sparkling water maker for the last 4 years. Just replaced it with this product. It seems to work well, it is less complicated and so easier to clean and it doesn't take up as much kitchen space. The litre bottle size is a good solution, more practical on fridge space than the Sodastream 60cl size coz I used to need two bottles to keep the flow of cooled water running. Now one will do. The screw in gas bottles from the Sodastream fit fine - yes they do!. I don't expect it'll last as long as the Crystal but then it's less than half the price.

I received my carboniser today but unfortunately the box did not include the CO2 canister as described. It is really difficult to get support on this - I have emailed Philips directly to see whether they can help. If not then unfortunately I will have to return the item. It looks very good though, sturdy and also looks very easy to use (obv can't use it without the Co2 canister).

Not only is it not as advertised (it will not fizz anything - just water) it has lost pressure so it no longer carbonates water. It now only created carbon flavoured flat water. It’s not a good product. Go for something else.

Product works great and will be a cost savings. Great addition to flavored drinks to bring the calories down. Easy to use. Highly recommend.

Been wanting a SodaStream for several years now and at various times of year they go on sale so I checked. So many new models and each one uglier than the last. If they offered one in pink I might’ve bought one anyway but no. Down in the “Others to consider” section they had a Philips on sale that looks like it was designed by brAun in 1970 when they made the best coffee makers in the world. Very minimalist — just a base, a cylindrical covering for the CO2 cartridge and an arm to charge the bottle. The actual epitome of Form Follows Function resulting in an absolutely beautiful product. And it comes in Pink w a pink bottle! And black, white and blue, the black and white also available w a stainless band around the arm and a stainless trimmed bottle for an extra $5. One downside tho the bottle needs to be replaced every 24 months after first use and I’m a bit worried Philips might discontinue the product and with it the replacement bottles — as Electrolux did w my air purifier’s filters — so I’ll probably buy a couple for later use, only available in black, white and stainless. Unlike SodaStream you need to buy the cartridges separately so it ended up a bit more than the cheapest SodaStream when it’s on sale as it was last weekend but it’s worth it.So the Philips works great and very simple. Bought Cherry Cola flavor which is always out of stock when Coke goes on sale. Lots of flavors available and w the cherry cola I only used half the recommended amount and it’s just perfect as I typically mix everything — soda and fruit juices — w water anyway. One downside about the flavors tho, they use both sugar and sugar substitutes. I’d rather have just sugar for the afternoon pick me up.

Bought it for my daughter who likes everything from scratch. Ordered 2 extra bottles so she can store it. She enjoys it very much and regularly makes us seltzer waters and flavored soda. Works well!
