This is a brilliant lamp and excellent value. It's bright on Max setting and nice white light. Each setting adjusts the tone slightly and each modes brightness can be adjusted. It's solid, with a slim profile and heavy base for supper, it folds against itself when not in use to save space and looks smart too. The lamp extends and swivels to give maximum coverages.I have used for computer work, reading, puzzles jewellery making, sewing and model work.This is as good if not better than more expensive equivalent lamps. Very pleased.

Orignally, I bought this as a task light for the control room when doing shows.I've had this light quite a long time now. For me, the two main puposes are to follow scripts and operation notes in the theatre control room, and for a work light when soldering. In the control room, lighting must be subdued so the warm light allows for good readability without ruining essential night/low-light vision. When soldering, the cool white is great for visibility and the capacity for high brightness can make small fiddly jobs with high wire denisty much easier to work on.Also, it looks very sleek and has gained some appreciative comments on style alone.I found that despite the ability to fold, it is not so convenient to transport because the base doesn't fold against the rest of the light. As a freelancer, having a task light I can rely on and carry with me is important because I never know what on-site lighting will be available until I arrive. Nevertheless, being able to select a colour temperature and brightness means it functions well for its two main purposes.

Beautiful design that doesn't take up much space. Great choice of ambiance.The tilt and turn head allows you to direct the light in many positions.The sleep mode is cosy. It gives off enough light to allow you to see, but also not light up the room when you're trying to sleep. It gives off a warm yellow glow.The relax mode gives just enough light to chill out with a beautiful ambiance. The light is a warm yellow glow.The study light is nice and gives an almost natural daylight feel with a bright white light. It allows me to draw so not bad at all. The reading light also emits a bright white light which is good enough to read in as it says.All lights can be adjusted four notches so you can dim or make the lights brighter in each mode.Great delivery and lovely packaging (came in it's own portable box with carry handle). This is very light (i.e. not heavy!) easy to move around, and has varying options of type of light with 4 levels of brightness. It looks good, and has easy and clear controls. It does not rotate sideways, which would be useful, but moves up and down, and across, very easily. I don't find it quite bright enough for my very intricate work, but I have very poor sight so it may just not be strong enough for that. However it would make an excellent bedside or desk light for most normal things, just not a great sewing light for someone with bad sight!

Nice bit of kit. Use it to illuminate my musical keyboard when playing with band. Have to use some judicially placed velcro but the ability to tone down the light to suit the dark environs we often play in is really useful. The base is really substantial but stems and light holder are a bit flimsy by comparison. The USB charger has been real boom when out and about on gigs or in practice. I imagine if this lamp is to be bedside the charging facility would be great and de-clutter any other charging kit that you may be using. Bit expensive for what it is but I'm happy.

WOW! Totally blown away. I bought the black lamp and it’s stunning. It works like a dream. My six year old loves it too. Definitely worth 5 stars because it’s looks lovely, it’s good quality and it works great. I love everything about it. It has Relax, Sleep and Read mode and for each of these modes there are three levels of brightness. With the ability to charge my iPhone, it’s even better.The delivery was fast. I only ordered it yesterday around 3pm and got it this morning before 11am. Blown away in every respect. Great item at a good price.Thanks Amazon and TaoTronics - even the box it came in was great quality, not flimsy!

I bought this to light the music book on my piano rest as it seemed to be a cheaper option than buying one of the 'specialist' lights designed for the purpose. I've found the light works very well for me and I use it in a warm lighting mode which lights up the music well and doesn't dazzle. I am able to position the light so it's not in the way of the music I'm reading and it's tall enough not to get in the way of pages being turned. It seems to be very well made and has a lovely shiny black finish. I'm very happy with it.

As an update following my recent review when the lamp stopped working. The company have been so easy to work with to claim a replacement. I registered on their site, provided the details of the light with various codes that were not difficult to find and within a couple of days I am now writing this review under my new lamp. It is still brilliant with several light styles and dimmable in all ranges. USB charger fabulous, save me using a port on my laptop.I have also registered as a superuser with TaoTronics, this looks promising with access to lots of nice opportunities to earn goodies, I think. All companies should follow the user support of TaoTronics, I shall certainly consider them when purchasing other products.
