American Crew Matte Styling Cream 100 ml

NB I have short/medium length hair. I have used a number of hair Gels & Creams in the past and to achieve the firm hold and non slick look, that isn't flat and stuck to my head; like I'm trying for the part of John Travolta in Grease, I have found very hard to achieve on a day to day basis, until I tried this. With a small amount of gel applied I can make my hair firm and stay in place with minimal effort for long period of time.Its a lot different from other Gel/creams I have applied to my hair in the past because you first apply and style and then leave it..totally, you must leave it or it basically disappears if you keep trying to style it. You only get a short amount of time to style which I assume is to do with why it is invisible, you can reapply another small amount which wont make your hair slick but its like almost starting again as if you haven't applied anything, which I also like as its very hard (as long as you are careful) to apply to much. Its very easy to get the look you want and very hard to find globs of gel in your hair later.The only problem I did find is if you do inadvertently use too much, if you try and run your hand through your hair to get it out later its like you are an advert for head and shoulders with white bits falling out your hair, but I have only had this happen twice in using it every day for 6 months and I'm pretty sure it was on Monday's when I am generally trying to apply using braille (P.s this is not advised).All in all a good product with good versatility and uses minimal effort in achieving different styles. Gives a firm hold and good used in conjunction with a light hair spray. Be careful with your usage but I would recommend to anyone with short or medium hair. I didn't realise this until recently and a tip I have found with using any hair gel is preparation, if you dry your hair with a hair dryer after showering and dry it while sculpting with your hands into the position as much as possible, it makes application and usage very easy! Not sure if you care as a general reader but I found this makes my styling very easy and with this product it just means I style and then leave it and am pretty confident it will be in the same place when I get home.

I'm a big fan of American Crew, and this product wasn't that bad, but in comparison to many of their other products it wasn't that great. Although it does give a nice matte effect, I find it really tends to bunch my hair together and makes it very hard and actually quite painful to brush the matte effect in. I've changed the way I do my hair but whenever I use this, it does the job. It also provides a bit of hold, but not enough.

This stuff is awful, unable to work it in my hands & unable to spread over the hair it s far to sticky

Amazing product for thickening any hair length! I have flat, dull and thin hair.. Add some of this to damp hair and blow dry whilst using a brush to pre-style into the desired direction (a quiff for me personally). Hair looks thick and healthy! Definitely not "bitty" if you use it right. Not recommended for super thick hair though, you would be better off with a volumizing pre-styler.

Brilliant stuff, my default hair product since I discovered it a year or so ago. Work it in straight out of the shower with wet hair, comb through and then blow dry into place. All day hold with no greasiness, a matte finish and easy to wash out again if you need to.Wouldn't use anything else, ever again.

Great product usually, used it for years and provides an amazing hold all day and a good matte look.Problem is that the most recent tube I ordered arrived only half filled - this is not usual and for 8 quid a tube I don't feel it's acceptable

Ah here, that stuff's gas, man. Apply to wet hair in need of magic. Buy it. Try it. Love it.

Quite useful to put on a daily basis. Easily moldable throughout the day and leaves no traces in the hair.
