Well made and good for youngsters
I bought this for my Grandson's fourth birthday and he is really keen to use it. In fact, he played with little else on the afternoon of his birthday. It seems to be at about the right level to hold his attention and create enthusiasm.Update nine months on:Grandson No.2, aged three, showed us that he is the one to interpret the pictorial instructions and, by passing his elder brother the correct parts for each layout, in the correct order, the pair of them could confidently assemble every layout in the instruction manual. They enjoyed doing this and they enjoyed experimenting with each layout 'to see what happens if...' This is what happened with boys aged three and five years old, working together, with no conflicts and collectively congratulating themselves when they were successful.Eventually, they wanted to build something larger and to connect the components in different ways and they immediately ran-out of components. There are sufficient components for the layouts in the colour booklet. So, with this kit being excellent value for money and with clear evidence of it's suitability, Ihave sent them a second, identical kit, so that they can continue experimenting and continue learning for themselves. One piece of advice: I am an Electrician. This kit uses power supplied by a power-unit that has two AA size batteries in a clip-in holder. I would advise using only non-rechargeable batteries (i.e. alkaline or zinc chloride) because rechargeable batteries are capable of delivering their stored power very quickly indeed and, it seems to me, that an incorrectly connected circuit, creating a 'short-circuit' with NiCad, NiMh, or Lithium batteries would generate a great deal of heat, would possibly cause burns, and could possibly start a fire.

Great intro into electrical science for primary school children
Ideal for 5 yrs up. Ability to make a lamp, fan, doorbell with switch or sensor etc. kids love it. Girls enjoyed it. Proudly displaying their creations to everyone. Great education , through hands on play. Well made for their age. Encourage them to keep the parts in the box when not being used. Just needs 2 X AA batteries. More exciting & interactive with their environment , than using a tablet/iPad . Stimulates an interest in science & inventing. Will be buying more from this series1 part piece didn't work but didn't detract from the overall enjoyment

fun but not much details about why the circuits work that way
This toy is really smart. It comes with a booklet showing all the block combinations, with pictures and a description of what you are getting with a specific combination. a couple of them do not work, however you can get the it right by intuitively replacing the blocks. My 3 yo kid has lots of fun playing with it.I am giving 4 stars because it would be useful to have some introduction on the principles behind the way the circuits work especially about why it happens and how it happens.

Easy to follow
This was a perfect kid for my daughterShe hasn’t turned 4 yet, but she can follow the instructions with some little help. The rotating is a bit unsafe though for kids imo otherwise all great!

Broken buzzer but otherwise a very good kit
This is such a brilliant kit. My son has enjoyed it and been using it all day. However after one use, the green buzzer doesn't work. This is very disappointing. I hope that we can get a free replacement for this. As you can see it's not visibly broken anywhere so it's an internal issue. I hope the other components last longer otherwise this will be a waste of time

Good for kids
My kids really love this one. They've learnt different ways on how to make it work. It's another way for them to learn and take them away from computers

Entertainment for all
Fourth set I have bought...they are that good! 4yrs old and up can follow the pictorial instructions to make some great circuits. Lots of fun for all! The fan/helicopter doesn’t always fly, but the sense of achievement when it does...priceless! A real hit in my classroom and for my grandchildren. Arrived promptly and very good value. Plenty to make in a small box; one set is a great starter for budding engineers!

Still Keeping my Grandson Entertained
The kit has just enough in for starting to educate young children about electricity. It requires 2 AA batteries but the rest is included. Some straightforward experiments described clearly in the booklet. The parts are easy to handle for a 6/7 year old. All connects together well, durable and well made.
