Will this get rid of aquarium plant pesticides?

I really don`t think so, It`s just a water conditioner, Have you tried 3% Hydrogen peroxide, I use it to remove all algae etc from my aquarium plants , spray them outside the tank then rinse them in water after a minute or so does not harm them or 20m direct in the tank water again does not harm fish but can harm shrimps

Yes it is an alternative to tetra aquasafe, but better. And yes, very concentrated so works out cheaper.

Does this reduce general hardness?

It can assist it yes but won't soften water fully. Treat water with tap safe before putting in tank.
