The battery doesnt work with door shut. Why?

More than likely the 2x contacts inside the earpiece are not hitting the battery sides ?. Open the battery door fully, look inside and you should see 2x brass terminals one on either side of the earpiece. CAREFULLY bend the tongues out with a pair of tweezers or toothpick. Not to far or the door will not re-shut !, that should fix it, if not then I am afraid the unit is no use.
