What can you say, it's a belt.I know the Linn one is hand made by Peruvian virgins at midnight on the summer solstice out of the worlds finest Malyasian rubber and all that, but it's a rubber belt, its the same size as the Linn one, it does the same job as the Linn one, the platter rotates at the same speed as the Linn one, there is no difference in the wow & flutter or rumble (I tested it), but it has THAKKER printed on it, which is excellent because you can tell which way around and up it goes..... if you can see the name, you've put it on the right way.Just buy it!

I recently did a mini service on my Linn Sondek and when I took off the belt to give it a clean, I noticed it had a small spilt in it. I know a genuine Linn belt is now £50 and whilst I am not short of a quid I'm not paying £50 for a glorified elastic band. I am aware of third party belts and each one has it's fans and haters. The Thakker though usually gets almost universal praise. It's £13.50 delivered next day with Prime so it is worth a go, even if only until I would be forced to buy an original belt if need be.This need however never arose. Once fitted my Sondek starts faster, the speed stabilises better and the bass is stronger too. Amazing for the price. I know unless you are a Linn fan you probably do not believe a rubber bamd can make a difference to the sound of a "Record Player" but it honestly can and does. I was so impressed I future proofed myself and immediately bought a second to stick away until needed. Well worth the little outlay. I'm a fan.

As the belt for my SME Model 10 (SME's drive belt No 1100 fits all SME turntables) has the same dimensions as those used for Linn LP12s (5mm x 560mm), the platter weights are similar and a new SME belt is now almost £50 every two years (sometimes more often), I thought I'd try one of these from Thakkers. It slipped badly on first fitting, most likely still covered in preservative and/or releasing agent, so it was necessary to spend 5 minutes washing it with pure soap and water, drying it carefully and finishing off with a run through cloth soaked in lighter fluid. It now runs and plays perfectly at a price that allows annual replacement. Highly recommended.

Difficult to review this as the belt is often changed as part of a deck service do too many variables to judge the impact of just one.What’s good is the price - 1/4 of linn original, and it fits.Sound quality will depend on the purchaser but I have knocked off one star as I have two old belts for the linn from the late 80s and from 6 years ago and they have thickness of 0.98mm and 0.96mm respectively.The Thakker feels more substantial and is just a touch under 1.11mm in thickness.Now how this will affect the Linn I don’t know, but it isn’t exactly the same spec. for sure.You pays you money. . .

with a new linn belt now costing a rip off £50 i thought i would try this belt for £13.50.This is a very good belt making no difference to the sound quality of the turntable and the speed is now more accurate than with my old linn belt.highly recommended

Perfect replacement for your Linn LP12 turntable, compared to the ridiculously priced original

In my opinion every bit as good as the LInn belt it's replaced. Had read some reviews elsewhere saying the Linn sounds better, in my opinion it sounds exactly the same!

Habe nach 20 Jahren es an der Zeit gefunden, mal den Riemen zu wechseln.Und dieser Riemen macht was er soll, passt, ohne Schlupf.

Buonissima cinghia di trasmissione per Linn Sondek LP12. A differenza della quasi totalità delle cinghie non originali LInn questa, pur essendo abbastanza economica, fa ottimamente il suo lavoro. Spedizione velocissima.
