Overall pleased with its use, useful on many surfaces.
We had realised that certain wooden products we own are subjected to cracking, warping and, generally, needing some moisture added to both seal and help its longevity. So, all good when I read about the FOOD SAFE pure mineral oil being sold.It is even shown as being along side vegetables and a chopping board.Safe to use on child's toys also....So that did offer comfort when using it in such places. What is my concern....Please see photos, in particular the last one. There is a health warning noted, "seek medical advice if swallowed". Just noting that to suggest safe storage as there is no child proof type lid on it.Using this on a chopping board, leaving it for half an hour or so and the polishing off the excess, seems to have worked as we would like. It has added a layer of protection, being hydrophobic it repels moisture, hopefully adding protection to the surface. We have also applied this to a panelled made wooden fruit bowl, many many years old but it had previously very slightly warped and cracked a little. Hopefully this will add protection against future wear, it has sentimental value. We had not realised such protection could be done.It is generally safe to use on plastics as well. Certain plastics outside can have issues when being exposed to the weather, not necessarily just the sun. Using some kitchen towel and giving them a wipe seem to reinvigorate them and restore their former protective appearance against waterThe discolouration and fading of those outdoor objects and furniture's are not always even either. When this oil is applied it does go a long way to even that effect. With wood, so far, I have been surprised and pleased at the grain, without causing it to rise, it has brought out. With plastics and metals it has restored a certain sheen and colour, if applicable, back to the surface. As noted this product is hydrophobic, thus adding a a layer of protection where water droplets just run off its surface. For a non-sticky, non-odourless and easy to apply oil..........it just works.Only dropped a star as I feel that the health concern noted only on the rear should then confirm a notice on the front to store away from children, perhaps a child safety top also being used.Very much recommended and pleased with its use.I hope this is helpful.

Fantasitc product for slate and wooden chopping boards
Ordered on Tuesday, it was here the next day. So very good delivery along with prompt communication by the seller.Great product, I had brought some fairly inexpensive slate place mats from a discount store and wanted to use them as plates. Applied the oil (very little required) and they now look like some slate serving plates I saw at 10 times the cost I paid. We used them for a dessert when some friends came round, they commented on how good it looked. There was no residue or taste from the oil in the food, but it's good to know it food safe. Afterward, the slate "plates" just wiped down really easily. Only one use so far and no need to reapply oil, I'm sure I will need to after several uses and washes, however since I only used a very small amount in the first place, that's not an issue.I then tried it on a couple of old chopping boards and it really made them look great; I can't say they looked like new as they are well used so have loads of cut marks, but they look much less worn. All in all, absolutely delighted with the product and would highly recommend.

I'm happy to review this product because many of you out ...
I'm happy to review this product because many of you out there may have the same dilemma that I had. The product is advertised chiefly as an oil for small wooden items chopping boards etc. I needed something for a much larger area - a table and a work surface made from teak. The oil we received when we bought the tops was a very good organic one, but when we'd used it all, we couldn't find a supplier to replenish it. Since then, we've variously used olive oil, walnut oil and (disastrously) a specially formulated teak oil. None were as good as the original (Danish) product. So it was with some trepidation that I decided to risk the Brandon mineral product. I shouldn't have worried. The oil, which surprisingly is clear, colourless and odorless, has done a first class job. The finish on the first coat was excellent, nevertheless I applied a second coat. The effect was to 'harden up' the appearance. I stopped there, thinking further coats might produce a 'varnished' effect. I'm pleased with the finish we have, the surfaces are now somewhat 'smarter' than they were before. I've no hesitation in recommending the product for areas of teak such as we have.

A housekeeping essential
Restores a professional new gleam to any wood item. I’ve used it on a coffee table, work top, blanket box, candle sticks, breadboard and slate mats. It’s colourless, odorless and easy to apply with a paint brush, and you don’t need to clean the paint brush afterwards as it’s just a light oil. You just pour a little on, spread it with the brush and let it dry. Apart from cleaning the area 1st you don’t need to do anything else e.g. cover the surrounding area unless it’s stained, I used sandpaper to remove marks on a worktop 1st. Very professional finish and the easiest DIY product I’ve ever used. It’s a repeat purchase.
