Truly a complete guide
I was amazed at how this guide made me realise that even though I know my yoga and the poses this book made me open my other reference books and nod in agreement. I love reading non-fiction like this that actually helps me in a clear and concise way to build sequences for classes. It has all a teacher needs and gives just that little bit more for the student to better understand the classes one takes.It not only gives background information on yoga, but has very detailed explanation of poses, their counterposes, and contra-indications, as well as modifications all described in a clear and concise way.The book doesn't require a full knowledge of all yoga entails to be able to understand it, but I do stress the fact that even with books like these students should take classes from a well informed teacher before trying poses unsupervised.It does amaze me that while in the olden days we just held certain poses longer as a part of the routine, today it is a whole class in itself and even has a name of its own.Yin yoga is a great way to de-stress and wind down in a most challenging way. Because don't mistake being sat in any one pose for a prolonged time for being easy. If anything Yin yoga is not easy at all and should always be practiced under guidance of a teacher, especially by those that have certain issues.Lucy Pireel author and yoga teacher

Good solid information on how yin yoga and the human ...
A valuable book! Good solid information on how yin yoga and the human body works both physically and energetically.Well laid out suggested practice sessions for varying abilities. Clear photos and instructions - though I will never be as flexible as the model, I felt confident enough to do them to the best of my ability. Love the wall yoga section! Recommended this book to a friend abroad who also now feeling the benefits.

yinfastic!
I haven't finished this book yet, been using it as a guide in teaching yin yoga. I've found it to be full of interesting theory as well as practical advice on postures and sequences. If you're practising or teaching yin yoga, this book is a must as there is just so much in it - but very readable.

If you want to understand and learn more, this is the perfect book
Incredibly well written. Clear, understandable, detailed. An incredible resource for teachers and students of yoga as well as anyone else who might want to understand their body and how to feel better more... What an incredible book!

Great book for Yin yogis
Great book on Yin Yoga, loads of information about the science behind it, as well as many great pictures of the asanas. I would have hoped for colour images, but the black and white ones are by no means bad!An interesting read for anyone who wants to know more about the Yin practise.

Great book!
I'd would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in Yin yoga!Bernie has got a friendly style of writing, which makes the book nice to read (so do definitely also read the theoretical stuff : ). For me, this book literally and figuratively really deepened my practice.

Excellen book
Excellent book with detailed, helpful information about getting into the poses and also any contraindications to be aware of. Lots of background information about ligaments, fascia etc as well as meridians, chakras, etc. About half a dozen useful yin sequences too.

A lovely book by a senor Yin teacher
A lovely book by one of the founders of Yin Yoga, it possibly falls into the trap of being too technical in places, and to that end it may be mre suitable to teachers or advanced practitioners rather than those who just want a manual for practice.The authors writings elsewhere, especially on the YinYoga.com website clearly show his broad knowledge and credibility, and that comes across in this work.

Soy maestra de yoga y buscaba EL mejor libro para entender el yoga Yin y integrarlo a mis clases. Este es el libro indicado para hacerlo. Tiene varias clases de 60 o 90 minutos y cada ejercicio esta descrito para poder lograrlo a alcanzarlo con alguna modificación. Lo super recomiendo.

Beautiful Resource
This is an excellent guide. This is a well written book, the concepts are expressed in a way that is simple to grasp, the poses are broken down beautifully, and the suggested flows are practical and effective. The book gives you the freedom to be creative with your yoga practice if you are more experienced, and provides excellent guidance for beginners. I enjoyed reading it very much, and am very happy to see that the information was presented in a safe way (providing modifications for those with common musculoskeletal conditions) for practitioners of all levels. I also enjoyed reading about the origins of the practice, and those who pioneered it.I recommend this book very highly.
