Five C's of Cinematography: Motion Picture Filming Techniques

Having read through many books of a similar nature for my dissertation, this is the one I referenced the most and the one having the most significant and informative impact to its reader. Having read many cinematography books, and books on how to stylistically edit, this is the one I always came back to which explained and dealt with very complex and refined techniques, but skimmed of their fat and shown in their most basic and essential form. Although the examples are old, the techniques used hold philosophies to them which when applied with modern filmmaking techniques, give an almost infinite amount of combinations possible for visual narrative. Mix the old with the new, this book will carry forward ideas that you will use with whatever it is you learn later on in your line of work.

Its a good book with classical knowledge

The Five C's of Cinematography: Motion Pictures Filming TechniquesThis is an excellent book for cinema/film studies students. Every line and paragraph teaches you something new every-time you read the book. In fact one would keep discovering different approaches through repeated reading. Extensive information about film language i.e. different camera angles,continuity, composition, cutting and lots more makes this a fascinating and easy read. This bundle of priceless knowledge is surely a must-buy and should be treasured through the ages.

Great guide to all things cinematic. Mine's covered in highlights and post it notes and already used almost daily as reference for ideas and technique.

Great book ! I really do recommend this book for people interested into movie making or story telling art.

What ever other books you buy, get this one. It has so many tips that I have never seen elsewhere. Also, it's size makes it usefull as a fly swat.

I haven't finished reading it yet and already I've learnt so much. It's a fantastic book for beginners and intermediate learners like myself.
