Product shows three different pieces, i recieved mine and it is just 2 pieces? What gives even directions shoe thfee pieces?

I got 3 pieces. The silicone sleeve that the phone goes in and the 2 harder plastic pieces that snap together over the silicone sleeve. Best phone case I've ever owned! I'm ordering 2 more in different colors to have in case they become unavailable in the future.

Does this case have an opening for headphone connection?

It appears you can utilize the recharge port and use it for a headphone connection, however, it doesn’t appear an easily done thing. Sorry this is not more helpful.

Is it separate inner (soft) and outer (hard) cases? Or just one piece with “multiple layers?”

It’s a protective case but it’s harder and slicker than the one I was replacing. It is heavy and a good protective case.
