The Book With No Pictures: A Hilarious Read Out Loud Book for Kids Young and Old Paperback – 4 Feb. 2016

This book is a huge hit in our house (with four kids) so we gift it to cousins and friends. One child though very sceptical at first was won over by the humour.

Our daughter came home from school telling us that her teaher read this out loud for her reception class and that everyone found it so funny. I decided to buy it to replicate this fun at home and also because if she is interested in a book I can get her to read from it which is of course good practice for her. Well it is quite funny, I can see why a reception class would find it hilarious! And she will help me read it too, so its win win!

I absolutely love this book. It's silly and funny, made to be read aloud and shared with small people and bigger kids alike! I've bought two copies so far, one for each family of grandchildren, and am about to buy another for my granddaughter in New Zealand. I can't wait to read it to her. She's going to LOVE it!

I currently work in Year 1 and decided to read this charming book to my class on their very first day. Needless to say, with them probably being so nervous about being in school, it didn't quite get the reaction I wanted, having read it before.However, days after I first read it aloud to them, the penny dropped and they still ask for me to read this to them. My classroom will then be filled with their giggles as well as a vivid future flashback of their (poor) teacher looking and sounding quite silly at the front of the room back in 2022.You will have great fun reading this to your little person or people, I do! Thoroughly recommended.

I bought this book to entertain my disabled son (8), after seeing a short video of the book being read by the author to a group of children. As soon as the package arrived my son couldn't wait to open it and have me read it to him. The book is incredibly imaginative, expertly crafted with fantastic pacing. My son laughed through the whole book and as soon as I closed it, he was eager to start again, after the 4th reading he was ready to stop reading. I anticipate this book will get a lot of use and look forward to hearing him laugh every time I am forced to make a silly noise. Buy this book! You won't regret it

This is great fun and also, unlike many children's books, brilliant for using on a Kindle. Picture books just don't work so well and as this (as the title says) is a book with no pictures, it was much easier to make use of. I live way out in the west of Uganda about six hours from a good bookshop and even then I'm not sure this would have been available, so when a friend's children came to stay I was able to download something new in minutes - wonderful.My only criticism is that the language is very American - English children do not find 'Boo Boo Butt' half as funny as 'Boo Boo Bum', also I would never refer to a young child as a kid in a story. That said, as it doesn't have any pictures the children just needed to sit and listen so I could adapt as I read. I read it four times in a row as requested, to a four year old and two year old, who laughed and laughed. A great addition to my Granny equipment!

My daughter (6) loves this book. She was asking for it after seeing the online video of the writer and since then she is reading it on an off... still with great fun. She even gave us nicknames from the book... which has a peculiar sense of absurd and silliness.

I had this book recommended to me by a friend who told me their child loved it. It did not disappoint! My daughter absolutely loves it! She anticipates all the silly noises I’m about to make and starts chuckling before I’ve even turned the page. Not only is it a fantastic book full of silliness and giggles, it has a really wholesome message that the magic of books are really the writers words inside. Must buy for any child who enjoys being read to.
