Q: I don't get it. I ordered this product to repair a chip in my bath tub. Do I need another product to finish the job?

Yes. This is the filler to bring the surface up to the level of the surrounding finish. The matching paint comes as a separate purchase. It seals the filler forming a durable surface. The paint will not fill in a chipped area.

Q: would you happen to have anything to repair a chipped black kitchen sink?

Shaws original farm sink chip repair works well.

Q: can i use an oil based paint over this product for a perfect match?

Not with just ANY oil based paint, but with the companion glazes that seal the filler and forms a durable surface. Porc-A-fix companion glazes are acrylic. I am guessing that once the acrylic glaze has thoroughly dried an oil-based paint could safely be painted over it without softening the glaze. I would conduct a test first on a porcelain scrap.

Q: Will this stuff work on a big chip on the rounded vertical outside edge of my cast iron sink? Will it drip or is it like putty that can be shaped?

It is a thick liquid. I also had a similar area to cover. It will run if you put it on thickly. It works better on an area like that if you use multiple light coats. You could sand it if it forms a run and then cover it over in a light coat.
