Do you have to use heat to make it work?

It's not heat activated if that's what you're asking. But it's like most styling products (mousse, gel, etc) in that you apply before blow drying. It is a cream but not like a leave in conditioner. Hope this helps. I have thin, baby fine hair and this is one of my all time favorite styling products.

Not a strong smell at all......just a light scent....excellent product....you will love it.....I also use the shampoo.
