Great wheel!
So silent I can only my ham’s footsteps when close to it! This is a very good choice and large enough for any hamster. This wheel has a nice, wide platform so there’s no wobbling at all. This wheel is great if you don’t already have a platform for your hamster’s wheel. It’s nice and sturdy and has a flat back for if you want to attach it to an aquarium wall using double sided tape.

Impossible to clean!!
Yes, it's silent. And yes, it looks nice and natural if you want more of a habitat than a kids toy cage. However.... Within 24 hours, my 2 mice destroyed the cork lining on the inside of the wheel, and it was covered with urine and feces, which brings me to the biggest issue. A wooden wheel is impossible to clean and it STINKS!!! Within 2 days of use I could smell that darned thing from upstairs!Because its solid wood amd soft cork, you can't easily rinse it or use soaps/sanitizers. Apparently (per google) the only way to clean it is to soak it for a few hours in water/apple cider vinegar, and scrape off the poops - which are firmly embedded in the cork/wood, btw! THEN, it takes 2-3 days for the wood to fully dry out before it is useable again. That is way too much effort, and my mice would go crazy without their wheel for a few days.I will never buy a wooden wheel again, and I can't return this because its ruined. While I don't love the look of cheap plastic wheels, at least they are easy to clean, and don't soak up urine like a sponge. Save your time and money, and get something else.

Great wheel for a reasonable price
First of all, I think most other wheels are too expensive for what they are. These are perfectly fine wheels. Durable, made of wood which is important for your hamster’s health, high-quality, and sturdy. The only downside is that they have a base close to the wheel so it’s easy for hamsters to push bedding in between and lock the wheel. I think I bought 3 of these so far for different hamsters and the first one was fine for at least a year until it got a bit wobbly.

Destroyed by urine
I like the appearance of this wheel but its not practical. Its urine soaked after a few months and cant clean it. The hamsters also chewed the cork lining almost immediately. Too expensive for such a short use. Maybe it can be modified or coated with a protective layer but i shouldn't have to go through those lengths for something like this

Cork doesn't win against hammy
I loved it and so did my hammy, but she ripped out all the cork after about three weeks of using it. she also left like sweat tracks on the cork that were pretty visable after a while. Hammy loved it a bit too much I guess ;-;

actually quiet but eventually needs replaced
this was the only wheel i could find that was actually quite, once hammy found out he could chew up the soft pad board that lines the inside of the wheel, as soon as i got him a new one hed immediately tear it up by the next day. i did replace it i think 3 times, the first bc he had torn up the pad so i thought i needed too, the 2nd time bc it had been quite some time & the fact its wooden, the pee & poop gets absorbed..3rd time same thing so its not a one time buy however it is still the only wheel id get for hammy

Quiet but completely impractical
I bought this wheel for my hedgehog the day I got him. He was unexpected and I was unprepared. For some reason, all of the large plastic wheels I was interested in would take a week to arrive, and my chubby hedgehog did not need to go a week without exercise. I ordered this one for next day shipping with the intention of using it temporarily until the other one arrived and possibly using it as a back-up. It seemed like it would be hard to clean, but I didn't expect it to be impossible.First, the positive. It is very quiet and very smooth running. The bearing seems to be high quality and continued working perfectly after getting it wet accidentally trying to clean the wheel. The wheel sits close to the ground so Piglet can easily get into it. It's nice and wide and easily accommodates the round shape of a chubby hedgehog and would also be a great fit for a pet rat or similar sized pet. The actual wheel part was very sturdy (until it wasn't as you'll see bellow). Plastic wheels that I've used can get a little flimsy feeling and the shape can distort as my chubster gets towards the outside edge. This wheel has a thick, sturdy wooden support ring around the outer edge that makes it keep its shape and probably makes him feel more secure as he runs.The negative: I don't think u would be good for any kind of pet that would chew wood, but hedgehogs don't do that so it wasn't an issue. The wood is a little rough. I'm sure the texture was helpful for traction and it didn't seem to be rough enough to cause him any foot issues, and the texture really grabbed on and held tight to any poop that got on it. The wood was also absorbent and was covered in pee and poop the first night he used it. The liquid gets pulled into the wood fibers and will never come out. Hedgehog poop is alot more soft that most small animals that leave dry little pellets behind. Piglet eats a variety of homemade wet food so his poop is even squishier than hedgehogs who eat dry catfood, and this wheel sucked all that poop juice right into the wood.I tried several methods of cleaning it, but didn't drench it or submerge it. salvageable. The actual wheel part, which is a very thin plywood product, I tried spraying and wiping with a vinegar solution and with plain water and I tried wiping with a wet rag (more wet than damp but not dripping wet), and I tried scraping and scrubbing the stickier bits. I didn't worry about getting all the stains out because I knew that wasn't possible. I washed the solid wood base part with dish soap and a scrub brush and rinsed it with a spray of water. The spray sometimes got on the back of the wheel back and I dried it with a towel and sometimes blew it dry with a hair dryer on cool or by aiming a fan on it. Once, I put it in the dryer on a shoe shelf without heat for about 10 minutes.During the 3rd cleaning, it just disintegrated in my hands. It's glued together, and the glue seems to be water soluble. I tried saving it to regime it but it just kept getting worse. The plywood of the wheel delaminated and it just wasn't salvagable.Although it didn't last long at all, and there's just no way I could think of to use it and clean it in a way that wouldn't ruin it, I gave it 2 stars because the height and size of the wheel were great and the bearing was nice and worked well. I believe the design and the bearing were very good, but the rest of the materials were a poor choice, low quality, and impractical, which, unfortunately made it fall apart after a week of use.
