I had an old TP Link ethernet switch that was noisy drove and me crazy. this one works perfect it's quiet and small only issue is the power cord is way too short but not a deal breaker.

Works as intended!

I wouldn't recommend this switch to anyone that doesn't have solid networking experience or good access to networking expertise. Luckily some networking experience and I have decent access to some helpful networking forums. I submitted an issue on the first day I received and set up the switch. I really felt the issue was a simple setting and submitted what I consider a clear explanation of the problem. It takes a full 24 hours to get a response back from the other side of the world. Both responses I received over 2 days were incorrect, lacking in detail and were way off base. I reached out to a networking forum, went back and forth a couple of times with Q&A's, and the answer was so simple. It turned out to be a simple config setting buried in the various switch settings. The company's tech support should have known this quickly so I know I'm not going to be able to depend on them for any support issues. Additionally, while the user manual is pretty extensive, it doesn't have a lot of details on what the settings are/do. It only states what the settings are and it would be so helpful, like other networking manuals I've seen, where there would be some details on what a particular setting does, etc. Lastly, there are no real solid resources in YouTube on this switch like are are with other name brand switches. It would be nice if this company backed up their equipment with more resources to support setup, configuration, and "how to" videos.I will say this switch is solid, quiet and appears to be full of features, many of which I will have to learn on my own. But if you're not saavy in the networking field, you might want to spend a bit more money and get something more mainstream where there are lots of resources available (ie: mfg forums, quick and reliable support, online tutorials/'how to' guides, etc.).

This with all cat8 newly installed made a huge difference in ping and jitter. Everything runs quicker and more steady. I can reliably watch 4k video that previously would not play more than a few minutes.I had a 1Gb switch commercial net gear. And cat 5e cables.Side note, I have slow internet, not even close to Gigabit speeds, this still made a major improvement.

I rarely write reviews, but I don't like my time wasted and this is the second Sodola I have purchased. The first I could never get into the management console, no matter what. The second one, was easy to connect, loved all the features, BUT, when I powered it off, it lost all the customized settings, I mean, after configuring static ip's. vm's, etc... this thing lost all settings every time the power was turned off. I'm done with Sodola, total waste of time and in today's IT world, things should not have to be a nightmare to setup like the DOS days. I don't recommend this unit, spend a little more and get a unit that has history and years of performance.

When it arrived, I couldn't believe how small the box was to fit 5 cables. This device is very compact, would be great for travel - easy fits in a laptop bag and it comes with its power plug for a regular electrical outlet. It’s easy to setup with no software installation or configuration needed. I like the exterior of the switch that made of a metal, which can help with heat buildup (better than plastic) and makes it durable. My computer connected through this switch and seems like it works perfectly fine. So far, I have seen no connection issues. Certainly a good buy if you need to add an extra network ports.This switch works well, it’s affordable and dependable. I am satisfied and highly recommend this product!

Just received the switch today and everything works great, getting more than 250MBps read/write speed from my macstudio to my nas (both have 10Gbps NICs), also getting 1.6Gbps download speed on my 1.5Gbps fiber internet.Will update this review in a month for longer term reliability..Update Dec 2023: The switch is now malfunctioning and drops connection often... contacted the seller for warranty coverageUpdate Jan 2024: SODOLA's customer service is amazing, they sent me a replacement unit which has been working rock solid without any issues, upping my rating to 5 stars

The plug in and work without any setup, but then again that is how most switches work especially in smaller networks. No settings can be set with this model

You can see in the two pics, one when the mac studio is plugged directly into the wall there's zero drop outs. Then the other is running through the hub, there's constant drops outs. Tried various ports and order on the 2.5 hub and no luck. Keeps dropping.
