The pictures speak for themselves.
Facts: I bought these and they were delivered January 15th 2025Today is March 6th 2025. Little under two months. These reflect my pictures.Received: good condition. gel was in tact. Leafs were new and small. Fully wash these plants before you plant, any gel will cause problems. I separated out into chunks, I bought 5 cups for a 20gal tank. Dry start method, left uncovered for about an hour a day, watered one or twice a day, water table is just under the roots.Just a hygger full spectrum light, 12 hours/day but it’s winter and there’s no direct sunlight on this.Lava rock to build up soil, Ada amazonia for the substrate, fluval strata black sand as the top layer (1/2” about). So, opinions:In just under 2 months i was comfortable with root development and flooding this tank. Haven’t had any issues with floaters but I would like to see it closer to the substrate. A few trimmings will help now that they are rooted well enough. Co2 injections 8 hours a day and a lot of light make these things take off. I also have a hygger airstone going constantly. By far my most successful start. Zero pest hitchhikers like worms or snails. Idk if my method is the reason but 2 weeks into a flood and I haven’t had any deterioration of the dry start plants.Final thoughts: they’re beautiful. I would recommend to anyone looking to start. You just need to follow basic steps that are widely available and your results should be fairly similar. The fact I got 5 pods and all 5 have grown uniformly just shows there’s consistency in the product, delivered in the middle of winter in New England during a cold snap of a few weeks in the low teens (f). Nothing but a positive experience for me and now I have my dream aquascape growing.

Exactly as pictured. Healthy.
The quality is excellent. I will update with a new picture when it completely fills in. I ordered 6 cups for a 15-gallon aquarium because I wanted it to look as full as possible. Would purchase from this company again.

It's okay
I ordered this and another plant with 2 day shipping. It came with a heat pack. My other plant was fine but this one wasn't doing the best when I received it. I still planted and it ended up dying after a few days. I was able to find some more at my local fish store.

No roots :(
This plant came two days earlier then expected.. which is nice if you aren't waiting on your tank to cycle. But there was no roots to plant the plants... it was all just leafs. Which is pretty upsetting because there was nothing to anchor them with. :(

AR Mini cups
This review is for the AR Mini. I ordered 2 cups. They came quickly, price and shipping cost was fair. They added a heat pad and used a slightly insulated box. The plants looked good. I kept them on my tank lid under the light for a couple days before planting. I was surprised the plants didn't get jostled more. Roots were still down, leaves were up. The 4 star is because the UNS cups were not sealed like other brands do. The lid can be removed without breaking any seal. They looked clean though so I have no reason to doubt they're not tissue culture grown. I'm happy with the experience. Thank Substrate for providing an option to purchase on amazon!

Unable to plant, turned to slime
Leaving 2 stars instead of 1 since I guess this could be user error, however ... Plant arrived looking healthy, but if there were roots, they were so tiny I couldn't see them. So little it was impossible to get these to stay planted, kept floating up and eventually after 4 days started looking slimy. I used long tweezers to start grabbing the plants out since they were floating all over the tank and they turned to a literal slime ball on the tweezers upon grabbing. Idk what the heck but I had to do a complete water and gravel change on my tank because it murked the water up so bad... :(
