Sony Game Control Mount Compatible with Smartphones, iPhones and iPads (Screen Size 4"- 8") - Black

The Good:I use this with my Dualshock 4 controller (which this device is specifically designed for) and my Xperia Z3 Tablet. Despite the relative size of this 8" tablet, the suction pad holds it very securely in place using a clamp to prevent it from losing suction. It can be pivoted up and down to find a comfortable position.I can play games using this device for hours and have a comfortable gaming session. My tablet will never move from the suction pad during this time. The wire 'bars' that clamp around the controller are strong and again are clamped at the bottom to prevent them from coming lose.The Bad:I've been using this for about 6 months (probably for a couple of hours once a week) and I lightly tapped the edge of the pivot mount against a table which broke the cap used to secure one of the clamping wires to the pivot. I am still able to use the mount because the wire is bent around the pivot bar, keeping it in place. I feel that Sony could have used a stronger cap which would have prevent this breakage. However, this is only a minor complaint because the devise can be used without hindrance, but it will ultimately reduce the life of the device hence the four stars.

Handy little contraption to hold your phone (or upto an 8 inch tablet) directly above your controller. Works best with a smooth surface for the suction cup to get a good hold.I use it with a Sony Xperia Z3 and played a few games over remote play with ease. The Z3's screen might be a little small for some games, I found Diablo 3 had a fair bit going on and the screen as a little small for lengthy play, very handy for just finishing off a bounty or rift when someone else wants to use the TV though.There is a hole on the top to allow you to plug in the power cable and charge the controller (which can be paied with the Z3 for remote play) but sony appear to have forgotten that they added a headphone port to the bottom of the controller and have not left an opening for it.Other than remote play, this would also be great for having a companion app within easy glancing view and within reach of thumbs....now if only the developers would make use of this potential and give us some decent companion apps for some games.

A good tight fit round the controller and holds the tablet firmly enough. A good side function to the Sony Xperia is that if you have a PS4 you can use the tablet as a screen and play your games with the controller attached to this in case someone else is watching tv or your in a bedroom etc.Not much else to say about this, it does what its supposed to and doesn't obstruct any buttons on the controller.I think the whole set up might get a little heavy to hold if you played for a while, but its not meant for long gaming sessions really.It feels quite strongly built and should do its job for a long time of occasional gaming.

I bought this hoping it would hold my original vita in place so I could use the ps4 controller during remote play and It worked well for that..Then along came remote play for any android.... So I tried it with my hudl 2 and my sons nexus 7.. The hudl 2 is very heavy and this device has no trouble holding it in place....It also works well for ios devices when used with the controllers 4 all app..This is a Must have for ps4 remote play. 4 stars down 1 star because of the price tag on amazon.. Sony and retail phone shops sells these direct for £20-£25 I paid £37 on amazon because the shops were sold out...

Well what can I say about this product.Absolutely brilliant if you want to be able to use remote play from your PlayStation 4 while your TV is being used by the wife or the children.I use this for my Sony Xperia Z4 10.1 Tablet and it holds it perfectly.It can feel a little top heavy at times but that’s if your sat up.I usually use this to have an hour or so in bed before I hit the hay and while lying down it doesn’t seem as top heavy.The only down side is were the device clips together is were the socket is for your wired headset so if you wanted to use a wired headset this would be a problem as there is no way around this.But if you use a Bluetooth headset this shouldn’t be a problem.Overall I can recommend this item and if your not bothered about using a wired headset then this is perfect for your remote play experience

I've got my first one on the release (pre-order) used about 4 times since I mostly used ps vita for remote play. On the 4th time I've noticed cracked hinge part on a right side where plastic part fell apart, left hinge appeared to be cracked as well after closer inspection. I've made brief research and noticed Sony Japan made an official recall (you can Google it). Luckily I've purchased it direct from Amazon hence they've offered me a replacement. Now I have a second one, so far so good, but it's hard to tell since I'm only used it twice after having it for about few months. I love the design and concept behind it, but I'm now pretty confused with a build quality, I've tried to contact Sony UK to get some info about possible revised batch but they haven't got an official information unlike Sony Japan. Also you could easily see some other reviews here with pictures taken which points to exact same cracked hinge issue.

What a fantastic idea by Sony once again cutting edge design, premium feel and a great price. I have been a long term Xperia user and have always loved Sony products, they have their ups and downs but that's life. I love the fact how it integrates with your Xperia Phone, I am using the Xperia X with this and it sticks great and the remote play is awesome (of course you need good broadband speeds, I'm not a fibre user and just about get crisp Gameplay through a wired connection) although I don't use it all the time it's a great gadget for when my partner is watching g the TV I can simply turn on my PS4, open the PS app on my phone and connect to the system within a minute it's amazing how far technology has come. I highly suggest this mount as it fits great, the hinges allow you to adjust the screen viewing angle too.
