Product Description This next instalment of The Twilight Saga sees Bella Swan devastated by the abrupt departure of her vampire love, Edward Cullen, but her spirit is rekindled by her growing friendship with Jacob Black. Suddenly she finds herself drawn into the world of werewolves, the ancestral enemies of the vampires, and finds her loyalties tested. With more of the passion, action and suspense that made Twilight a smash hit, The Twilight Saga: New Moon is a spellbinding follow-up to the international box office phenomenon. What the critics say: "Superb. This is the moment that the Twilight saga comes of age” News of the World “Breathtaking” New! “Unmissable, our pulses are still racing” Company ***** stars from Look, Now Magazine and New! **** from Heat, Grazia, the Sunday Mirror and News of the World .co.uk Review New Moon, the second in Stephenie Meyer's blockbuster teen-fiction saga adapted for film, is stronger than its predecessor, Twilight. Director Chris Weitz (The Golden Compass), taking the helm from Catherine Hardwicke, brings a lighter, more assured touch to the sequel, which continues the star-crossed love story of mortal Bella (Kristen Stewart) and vampire Edward (Robert Pattinson). Incidentally, Edward is absent for most of the film; after an accident on Bella's birthday reminds Edward that her life is always at risk when he's around, he chooses to abandon her, sending her into a deep depression. The only person who helps her heal her broken heart is her friend Jacob (Taylor Lautner), a member of the Quileute tribe who, as he grows taller, beefier, and more aggressive (with less clothing), comes to realize he's not entirely human either. But even his love for Bella doesn't prevent her from throwing herself in the path of danger, because that's the only time she can see visions of Edward. One such fateful misunderstanding sends Edward into the coven of the Volturi (a sort of vampire Mafia, if you will), where the most dangerous vampires hold both Edward and Bella's fate in their cold, dark hands. Much of New Moon rests on the shoulders of Lautner, so scrawny in Twilight, who famously packed on the muscle to avoid getting recast. He's very nearly successful in carrying the load, but the cheese-tastic beefcake scenes disservice him, and Jacob and Bella's complicated friendship stumbles on its way to any kind of love triangle. Some of that blame lies with Stewart, who understandably holds her emotions close to her chest but reveals much too little (c'mon, even an angsty girl has to be a little joyful in the arms of two different hunks). As is with the book, the film is just a bridge between sagas, so the plot drags and not a lot happens. Fortunately, while Twilight was trapped in its own self-consciousness, the wobbly-legged cast seems to have found stronger footing in New Moon; the jokes come faster, the writing (by Melissa Rosenberg, who also scribed Twilight) is a hair wittier. (Even Pattinson seems more comfortable in Edward's skin.) The Volturi, highlighted by Michael Sheen's Aro and Dakota Fanning's Jane, also make an all-too-brief impression, but at least there's more to look forward to when Eclipse, the third installment, is released. --Ellen A. a film is never ever going to be as good as the book - so stop expecting it to be so
By True Twilight Saga fans I mean the folks who have read all the books more than once BEFORE seeing the films .... like me! I really hate to see the films berated for not being as good as the book ... a film is never ever going to be as good as the book - so stop expecting it to be so!!!As a massive & avid fan of the books. I absolutely loved New Moon, as I did Twilight - for the simple fact that all the characters I had imagined, the world I had imagined came to life in front of me, and showed me a different perspective from my own imagination.Of course you can never fit everything in a film that is in the book, so you must forgive this - also please forgive the fact that Edward doesn't appear as much in New Moon - he does not appear much in the book!!! That is the whole point ... the angst of Edward leaving Bella, how she deals with this and turns to her friend Jacob for comfort and in turn discovers a whole new world she knew nothing about. The film makers have stayed very true to the story, these are films that stay very close and true to the books - admirably so! The only holes are some parts from the book, nothing major, these are due to the fact that you cannot fit everything in - it would be impossible, as I said before! They got all the most important things from the book in the film, it was portaryed so, so well! This film is amazing, the effects are amazing, they have truly captured the raw emotion, the feeling, the pain, the confusion and the action of the book. It really has been brought to life in front of my eyes. The casting is unbelievable, Kristen Stewart & Robert Pattinson were born for these roles!I cannot wait for Eclipse and for my favourite... Breaking Dawn!!!I know all TRUE Twilight Saga Fans will agree with me completely and appreciate these films for what they are.

Almost over the moon!
I never made it to the cinema to see this so was counting down the days till it's release. I did enjoy it though was really dissapointed that Catherine Hardwicke didn't direct, I loved Twilight, the mood of it, the way it was filmed and the intensity between Edward and Bella, The Cullens had a mysterious aura about them and I felt though closer to the book New Moon was lacking in this, the difference in the lighting I didn't like and some key bits were just skimmed over. When Carlisle explains how Edward feels about his soul in the extended/deleted scenes that should have been left in and when Edward calls to speak to Charlie, they should have focused on his reaction more, he thinks his destiny, his reason to 'live' is dead and he got about 4 seconds screen time. The way that Edward is dressed is a total u turn, from the James Deanesque to a a bit too fuddy duddy and Jasper, what happened to the hair and clothes!!The image you have in your head of them doesn't quite transfer over as well as Twilight did. The soundtrack was good although Bellas lullaby was nowhere to be heard, I mean come on!! Possibility was an amazing song and summed up Bellas devastation brilliantly, some of the ascending classical music at key bits was a bit too Hollywood and not in keeping with what I expected, I sound like I hated it but I actually really liked it, just dissapointed in some of it. I went through a range of emotions from tears, when Edward dumps her and when she saves him in italy ("I can let you go now") oh man gets me every time; to cheers, they make it home alive, although the journey on the plane could have afforded a small scene. I can't believe ive not mentioned Jacob, the main focus of this film yet, the friendship between him and Bella is lovely though sometimes you think Bella is bloody selfish and lets him dangle! Taylor is really good as Jacob though a bit more time devoted to his struggle in being a Wolf would have been good.Love the wolf pack, Paul especially and would have liked to have seen a bit more of them. They made the film for me, the part at Emilys house was really good, funny. I overall would recommend New Moon it is a good film and Michael Sheen is fab as Aro, charming but so bloody (no pun intended) creepy when he needs to be, just dissapointed that Edward got such a whipping from Felix in Volterra, where in the book was that? Hated the cringeworthy vision that Alice has of Bella, that could have been better. Liked all the extras on the 2 discs, especially 'Edward/Jacob fast forward' and the Eclipse sneak peak, which looks good although the new Victoria looks awful! Heres hoping that all the Cullens get the chance to shine or rather sparkle in the next installment. Bring back Cathy for Breaking Dawn. xx

NO WAY ONLY FOR TEENAGERS.. I'M 43!
No way this is just for teenagers, I have been converted into a Twilight Saga Fan recently after watching NEW MOON on exactly the first day it was released in Spain on the 18th of November. I saw Twilight only 3 days before New Moon was released just for the sake of watching it on telly because there was nothing better on. I had no previous knowledge of even who Robert Pattison was but while I was wathing the movie I thought to myself: "Where have I seen that cute face before?" And then, since I am a avid Harry Potter fan, it dawned to me it was good ol' CEDRIC! Only much sexier and mature. I have now all 4 books, Twilight DVD which I watch constanly when my 7 years old is a school or aleep, the book mark, posters all over my room, and all the movies Rob Pattison stars in (not got the pillow case yet, but will do!)and cannot wait for Eclipse to be released in June, which I will be going home to London (I live in Spain)for the Premier in Leicester Square, see if I can get first in line and the take a good look at Rob and maybe a autograph.(Dream on ol' Girl, LOL)and I cannot wait either for the New Moon DVD so I can watch it at home whenever I wish! So there you go, this is not just for teeagers, I am 43, but mind you, I am very good at remembering exactly how I felt, dreamed and acted when I was a teenager myself,so that makes the movies and the books even more enjoyable. I have just finnished reading Twilight and abs adored it, I could not put it down. As I write, New Moon waits patiently on my bedside table so I can start on it tonite. To all you Twilight fans out there I know exactly how the twinging and dazzeling makes you feel and let's all wait patiently for Eclipse to come out. I know, I know, it 's really hard..
