This is a fantastic woodcarving kit to help my children join me in the joys of wood carving. The carving knife has a safety guard and sheath to help keep little hands safe. The instructions are easy to follow and having two wooden blocks lets me work with one for each of my kids. The paint is great too to have a finished tree to put on display or add to scenes when playing with toys. Very satisfied and would purchase again!

This is an awesome kit! I'm excited to do whittling with my 9 year old as part of our homeschool! I love Beavercraft products and was drawn to this kit because of the knife designed to be safer for children. It has a finger guard and a rounded tip. The box includes everything needed to carve cute trees, including paint! I only gave 4 stars because the little instruction booklet appears to have had something sticky spilled on it before being placed in the box. The pages all tore a little when I opened it, but fortunately I can still read them. I don't see any signs of liquid marks on anything else or on the outside of the box, so I really think it got wet before it was put in. Other than that, I'm super happy with the kit and my boy keeps asking when we are going to get started!

When grandson opened his birthday gift...was a big congealed red spot on blade. Looked like dried blood. Yuck! Gonna thorough disinfect everything, but wth?!
