I'm so glad we purchased this light. I was a bit hesitant with the burlap shades - not wanting a county look, but it turned out to be a perfect blend with the furniture textures. Many reviewers are saying this is a 2 person job, but I didn't find any difficulty in putting it together on my own. The diagram showing on the directions could certainly be larger, but seriously, common sense in securing the bottom to the base and then screwing in poles in order is pretty easy (they are pre-wired together so you simply can't get it wrong.) Only a few suggestions: if you're shorter you might need a step ladder to secure the shade to highest arc - I also found flipping the shades slightly upside down helped, and the screws that secure the arcs are very small, but doable - I placed one on the Allen wrench and put it into the hole to tighten, the other two I placed in the holes and secured from there. My only disappointment was the larger shade was coming apart at the seam, but I secured it with a glue stick and it's good to go. This is exactly the lamp my wife and I were looking for. We had a table lamp which sat on a small "end" table between our two recliners, and when we were sitting in them, we couldn't see each other because of the lamp. So, we checked out a bunch of these lamps which would hang over the chairs but not be in the way, and this one works great. Assembly was fairly straight forward. There are some tiny screws, and all but one were not really an issue.However, I am pretty certain the screws included (which are all the same size) are not meant to fit the knob, and in fact, I don't think this is the right knob. First, the set screw simply doesn't fit the knob. Second, the knob shouldn't need a set screw; a set screw on a plastic shaft generally isn't a good idea. But, this was a knurled split shaft, and as such, the knob should be one that slides on tightly and stays on with friction. I happened to have an assortment of those kinds of knobs from some electronic projects I've done, and found a small black one that fits fine and stays on with friction and without needing a set screw.Oh, and this "antique bronze" is black. I would have ordered black given a choice, so I don't mind.

Oh my goodness, I love this lamp!! After reading many reviews over several days about different types of arc floor lamps, this was the one I chose and I'm so happy I did. This one cost me a little more than the other one I was considering, but the video about how this one goes together versus the horrible reviews about its competitors assembly was the major selling factor for me picking this one. That and the competitor had more complaints about it arriving broken and it being a hassle to return. This one on the other hand comes with an almost ridiculous amount of protective packaging. The box did arrive damaged pretty severely, however the contents inside were in perfect condition. Assembly was so super quick and simple. Love that I can position each lamp further to the left or right. I also am really enjoying the bulbs I got to use with this lamp specifically that have the bottom half chromed out. So the light from each bulb shoots up and out the top of the shade mostly and you don't have to be victim to bright bulb blinding glare. We are using the 60w and its perfect for that warm homey look. Beyond happy with this purchase! Thank you!!

I received the lamp in a huge box that was wrapped very well, triple layer with really annoying styrofoam that just crumbled when you took the pieces out. The base of the lamp is solid marble (I think) it's chipped and a larger chunk was missing but good thing was that this was going to be hidden. The lamp base and center section were ridiculous to put together. The threading was not very good but after wiggling it back and forth and much swearing it finally came together. Trust me, I was determined because there was no way I could get this back in that mayhem of boxes.All that being said, I LOVE this lamp! It is absolutely perfect. My sofa sits low (2.5 inches from the ground) and this lamp base fits right underneath and in the corner. I was able to move the three arms to where I wanted them. It's great that I can turn one one, two or three lights at a time. I keep them all on and it lights up my room beautifully. I do recommend getting the light bulbs with the mirrored silver bottoms to reflect the light up and out. This is because I placed in the regular bulbs and it was like looking into the sun. But on the upside I think I may have gotten a nice tan.Overall, if you are looking for a nice statement piece that looks much more expensive than what this costs and need a good lighting source....you won't be disappointing in this lamp.
