BUY THE EURO MODEL!!
in case you didnt get it from the headline, this is the Euro model - Makita part number 191T38-7 A.K.A. EY403MP. you wont find it on the makitatools page for the US unless you go to the top right where it says "EN" (language) make it drop down, go to global, Europe, then UK (or any other country if you can read that language...). that is where you find the specs on this beautiful piece of machinery. so whats so special about this one over the U.S. version EY402? for one, nearly every single time i looked at the 403 on amazon, it was $50 cheaper than the 402, and the times it wasnt cheaper it was the same price +/- $5. so, not REALLY a big selling point until you consider the fact that they both have the exact same guts. seriously, every single part is 100% the same... EXCEPT FOR THE BAR AND CHAIN!! for some reason (probably weird US customs laws that dont allow good stuff to be sold here) the Euro model comes with a 12" bar and chain while the US version only gets a 10". while this might not seem like much of a disparity to a lot of folks, i didnt want to spend "X" on the 402, then another 50~ish on the upgrades. this way i spent ~$100 less and got exactly what i wanted!! there is a spot in the listing page saying something about "international seller" and "customs and import fees"... i was not billed for that. the price listed was the price i paid. and for the record, it attached perfectly to the XUX01Z 36V powerhead and works like a MONSTER!
