LAOMAO5X DC-DC Step-up Boost Power Supply Module Adjustable Power Apply 3V-32V to 5V-35V XL6009 400KHz 4A Max

I bought this to run a 2.9A load at 12v from a 2S LiPo (7.4V nominal). Running it from a lab powersupply into a DC load, it starts to drop voltage heavily at 1A load, and by 1.5A it's thermal limited. At 2A, it's outputting just 10V and is over 100C. Efficiency is measured at around 76%.Doesn't meet advertised specifications in any way, totally incapable of supplying 4A.
