New Remotes Original Sony RMF-TX900U with Voice and Blacklight

Bought a 2023 Sony Bravia - XR55-X90L TV that came without a backlit remote - I guess $1,100 wasn't enough to expect a decent remote !! Bought a new backlit remote - RMF-TX900U that does not list the Sony X90L tv as being compatible but I assure you, it is 100% compatible. At $ 53.00 for this backlit remote, I put it thru it's paces and as I said, all buttons are functional. One hiccup - when pairing it with the tv, it initially appeared to not be compatible, but I did the ole re-boot - after completing the pairing protocol, I turned off the tv and turned off the remote, gave it a minute or so and turned both back on and everything worked 100%. Well worth the money to be able to see the remote at night !

Bought this remote as a replacement for the TX800U that came with my TV to get the backlit feature..Generally works great, but the buttons on the TX900U feel spongy and squeak, unlike the soft yet decisive click one gets on the TX800U. The tactile and audible feedback that you get on latter is much better than on the TX900U. Finding the buttons better thanks to the backlight only partially compensates for this unnecessary design change...

With its metal casing, this remote (RMF-TX900U) definitely feels premium compared to the base model RMF-TX800P remote that came with my XR85X90K. All the functions work perfectly, including the motion-activated backlight and the built-in mic. Pairing the remote via Bluetooth makes it far more responsive with my tv. My only gripe is that there is a firmware update available for the remote but attempting to install the update always fails. I've ensured the batteries are brand new, and I've also held the remote in close proximity to the TV when attempting the update but it always fails. At least all the functions seem to be working fine though, so 4 stars from me.

We have a Sony Bravia XR and this remote works great with it. I don't use the voice functions. Don't waste money on the cheap knock off remotes, I had one and the buttons have to be pressed just right to work. This remote works just like the one that came with the TV. Buy this one!

The range of this remote is frustrating. You basically have to move around to get it to work because signal is weak. Not worth the aggravation.
