Awesome combat, enthralling story, beautiful scenery, but sometimes frustrating between battles.
The game is absolutely beautiful, the story grips you, and the combat will keep you on your toes at all times as you unleash awesome combos. Though I have some gripes with the game. Sometimes you have no indication as to how to progress while platforming, in spite of white blue markers indicating points that you can hold on to. Sometimes puzzles contain new mechanics that have not yet been introduced or explained - although you can unlock a hint at the cost of the XP reward you would have otherwise gained for solving the puzzle. And once I encountered a bug that was gamebreaking for me until I found the solution online. I've lost count of how many times I had to look up online where to go next or what to do next in order to progress.Pros: Awesome and hectic, yet fair, combat. Great story. Breathtaking scenery and graphics. Interesting puzzles.Cons: Lack of direction sometimes - be prepared to use walkthroughs just to beat the game. Near game breaking bug years after its release.I'd recommend this to anyone who loves beat-'em-ups, vampires and werewolves, and, of course, fans of the original Castlevania series - it's not -that- different from the originals.

One of the best action games for the last years. And this includes the DLCs of the original game, the nice remake of Mirror of Fate and Lords of shadows 2 demo.Surelly worth the money.Recomended.

Don't bother!
This "collection" of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow only contains the original game, the DLC's and the Mirror of Fate remake can only be obtained if you download them from the Playstation Store using a code from the instruction manual. The problem is you get the US version of the game so you can't use the code in the UK. I don't know which is worse: Amazon or Konami. The game is crap anyway, it's like a very bad clone of God of War or Shadow of the Colossus. The frame rate is very low too!

Just grab the original, but only if you're interested in the Origins of Castlevania.
Let's be honest here, the original game is the best out of the entire package. But at this price it's definately not worth it. The Original game is done better in other areas, and is wholly average. IF you want my opinion, only play it if you want to see the Castlevania origin stories, and nothing more. If you want an action game, you'd be better if with a vast sea of other games, like DMC or Darksiders. But if you're a fan of Castlevania, pick it up. 5 pounds in most places. As for the DLC, IMO, it's not worth it. If i would absolutely have to pick one of the two, I'd pick Reverie. I only played this and all the DLC because I'm a hardcore fan of Castlevania - but mostly just the Classic and MetroidVania genres. And finally, Mirrors of Fate. It's a horrible game. Nuff said. Not worth it, not at this price. Either wait for it to drop in price, which it might not, and turn around. The Demo is pretty good, though. Plus, it's only £27 pre-order for the next game, ATM. I'm strongly pondering whether to take advantage or not.

Great game, unfortunately
Great game, unfortunately, the disc only includes the original game; literally. You'll be required to download and install 5GB of content to enjoy the all additional features advertised in the packaging, as soon as you pop the code on PSN.

Happy with the game
Happy with the game, it's not easy to start with but if you do it on easy mode it's really good! One thing I not happy about it is that you can't move the camera!!

Great game
A different modern take on the Castlevania franchise that I really like, now with all the released expansions & the Mirror of Fate sequel, it's worth the money.

The last great game published by Konami.
One of the best games on its generation. It has a nice Castelvania feel, good fighting system, and nice narration. It is one challenging game. But pull it through and you'll have tons of fun.
