Altelix Polycarbonate + ABS NEMA Enclosure 14x11x5 (12" x 8" x 4" Inside Space) Weatherproof Tamper Resistant NEMA Box with Aluminum Equipment Mounting Plate

When our new home was built, the low voltage contractor was only able to include excess wiring coming out of the side of our house for me to connect later for a future BBQ/entertainment space in our backyard. I needed a solution to house the various cables and connections that would be secure since it contained connections to our home network. This enclosure worked out perfect even though I had to drill holes different from the knock-out spots since the conduit I was connecting was larger than the holes provided. Pictures of my setup before and after install at the time a few months ago, plus one from today to show the fading -- this is my one disappointment with it as I liked the gray look and will now probably have to paint it and the conduit at some point to make it not look weird.Pros: sturdy, clean look, lockable, decent priceCons: very obvious fading/yellowing of the exterior surfaces from the original gray color compared to the inside after only a few months from install (reason for the 4 star rating instead of 5)

Outdoor rated (NEMA) enclosures are expensive for what you get...they have always been way over-priced in my opinion and I really don't know why. But...when you need one, You need one.I'm very pleased with the quality of this one. It seems very well made. Hinges and gasket work well and no sagging door sloppiness, everything lines up perfectly. The inside Al mounting plate was well worth the extra cost for my equipment. However, with the right type and length of screws, you can use the plethora of shallow standoffs that are molded into the back instead of the mounting plate, so long as what your securing is lightweight. The quick close tabs on the side are a well thought out feature that I really began to appreciate them when I was having to open and close the enclosure several times a day while tweeking my equipment and settings. I only used the Key/Screw latch days later when I was finally satisfied with my setup.Note: Vents in the door were made by BUD industries and added by me at a much lower cost than Altelix's vented option.

The first box I ordered from another company was too small for my project so I ordered this box. Boy I’m glad I did! It is far more superior! It has tons of mounting options, comes with rubber bushings for cables, cable holders for inside, and even lockable. It was even easily painted to blend in with my brick home. I am using it to contain transformer and WiFi dimmer for my patio LED lighting. I would highly recommend.

This is not bad... for the price, but some water does get in through the seal. This is not too critical for me, as it does not get to my circuitry with my design. My enclosure is mounted out on a pole in the middle of the yard with no protection at all... so, when it pours... it gets wet.Then again, for the price it works out reasonably well. I would order again, should I need something like this in the future.

Works real great for an outdoor enclousure. I need one that will house a small ups along with a couple of POE injectors. This one is a little small but everything fit inside all nice and neat. I would buy it again if necessary.

I didn’t want to spend the extra money, but the results say; money well spent. Having a place to put things and organize them, even something as simple as some low voltage wiring, makes good sense.

Great enclosure - weatherproof with all of the supplies to make the openings weatherproof. Secure mount of the plate to inside of the box - exactly what I was looking for.
